Chapter 31The Chase
Peter Adamson, still heading north and oblivious of the police net that was gradually tightening around him, glanced at the van's petrol gauge and realised he was low on fuel. Luckily for him the next motorway service area was fast approaching, and he soon pulled off the motorway and entered the Killington Lake Services. Before filling the tank, he parked the van and headed for the toilets, after which he called into the café area, purchasing a coffee and a chicken salad sandwich. It had been hours since he'd eaten, and he needed fuel for his body as well as for the van.
