Chapter 7Shock and Horror
Morag Blennie, the proprietor and manageress of the Shetland Tea Rooms, smiled a greeting to the two smartly dressed men who walked into her establishment, and looked at them quizzically when they produced their warrant cards, and introduced themselves as detectives.
“We need to ask you some questions about one of your employees. Mrs. Blennie,” Ross said, trying to break this bad news as gently as he could.
“And who would that be?” the lady replied, in an accent not too dissimilar to that of William Nugent, but with a much more feminine bent to it of course.
“I understand Frances Daley works here?” Ross began.
“Aye, that's right, she does, though she hasn't come in today, and that's not like her. Has something happened to her? Is she okay?”
