Chapter 5 The elf led Pembroke further and further from the land, traversing the Sea of Ice Giants with ease. The creature paused beside the deer in humanoid form. They bumped shoulders, both warmly wrapped in the gray blubber jumpsuits. Pembroke watched a creaking crystalline monolith sail by. “Jump!” the elf shouted, and Pembroke obeyed. They jumped from one to the next. Pembroke had resisted taking his human form once they had teleported above 82° N. The polar temperatures chilled flesh without a pelt.
