Chapter 3 - Expect the Unexpected

A month later.....

Alysia

My sister Sammy who was five years older than me moved out and moved to NY with her boyfriend for a fresh start. Not long after, my mom and Selene was always going back and forth. Since Sammy left, mom was strict with Selene and her going out with her BF. Selene dated the Quarterback on the football team and was falling her classes. One day, Selene had enough and packed her things and moved in with him and his family. He actually lived right next to the school and since she was 17, my mom couldn't do anything. 

After Jason moved in, My stepdad Alex showed him the farm and how to do everything in case he wasn't there one day. As for school, I showed him around his classes. We had 3 classes together and the remaining of our classes were near each other. He wasn't as bad as I thought. I started taking the Bus to school since my brother got his car totaled. Jason ended up becoming best buddies with Kal, go figure, and hung around him and his friends alot. So now it was back to just being me and Priya. Usually Kal and Jason walked with us to class. This was my schedule this year

Period 1 - Class with Priya and Jason

Period 2 - Class with Kal

Period 3 - Class with Priya, Kal, and Jason

Period 4 - Class with Priya

Period 5 - No classes with anyone I knew

Period 6 - Class with Priya and Kal

Period 7 - Class with Kal and Jason

**I had lunch right after 4th period and usually met up with everyone or went to the library. I was smart and wasn't going to let anyone mess up my year. My dad always said "Noone can take away your education from you because thats the one thing in your head that will always belong to you" and I wanted to make my parents proud. **

I had just walked in the building when I saw Jason waiting at my locker. "should I meet you at the front gates after school?" Jason asked me. It took me a minute to register when I realized I was suppose to take him to the restaurant with me to show him the ropes. Since its fall, the farm has slowed down and my mom said he can assist in the restaurant since it has picked up. "Yea just meet me there since I have to go to my locker first" I said as I Slammed my locker and walked to class with him walking beside me. I walked into First Period and saw Priya had saved me a seat. Jason sat behind me. I was zoned out when the teacher asked me a question. I answered yes and then she said "good, you can partner up with Jason since he is new and work on the mid-term project together. This will be for 90% of your grade". Crap Crap Crap. I thought to myself I faked a smile and looked at Priya and rolled my eyes. She was partnered with another girl. 

"Alright class get with your partners and discuss your topics and let me know at the end of class, what your project will be about and remember you will be acting it out in front of class. Use the guide to help you" the teacher said. I hated advanced writing. 

I turned around and looked at Jason. "so, any idea what you wanna write about" I asked. We went back and forth fighting over what topic we wanted to discuss. I told the teacher we needed an extra day before we decided. We basically had to pick up a book, choose a chapter, and write our own chapter and act it out. I could already hear most of the girls wanting to chose twilight or something supernatural. I rolled my eyes. Something like the Fault in our stars came to mind. The bell rang and I gathered my things and raced out the door before Jason could catch up. As I ran across the school to my next class, I saw Kal flirting with another girl. I told him he was not going to fail this year. So I grabbed him by the shirt and pulled him with me before he could say anything especially since we had 2nd period together.
