PART 13 - THE RAGING DEVIL

928 Words
DARKNESS WITHIN A LUXURIOUS HOME BANG! A massive marble table flipped over, crashing onto the floor with a deafening thud, its surface cracking upon impact. Heavy breathing echoed through the room, now filled with shattered glass, scattered papers, and overturned furniture. Adrian Callway stood amidst the wreckage, his body tense, his sharp gray eyes burning with barely contained fury. It had been months. Months without a trace. Months without Nadine. And it was driving him insane. "f**k!" Adrian grabbed a crystal vase from the table and hurled it against the wall. CRASH! Shards of glass flew in every direction, but he didn’t care. His head throbbed, as if something inside him was about to explode. He had never felt like this before. Never lost control. Never been consumed by emotion. But this time? He was utterly powerless. And that was something he could never accept. He kicked a chair across the room, sending it crashing against the wall with a loud bang. His eyes darkened, his expression more menacing than a starless night. His fists clenched so tightly that his knuckles turned white. "Where are you, Nadine?" he whispered, his voice a venomous hiss. When Adrian wanted something, he got it. Always. But now, the one woman who was supposed to belong to him had managed to escape. And that—that was unacceptable. NADINE, WHERE ARE YOU? His subordinates stood stiffly in the corner of the room, not daring to make the slightest sound. They had seen Adrian angry before. They knew how dangerous he could be when enraged. But this time was different. This time, he wasn’t just angry. He was desperate. Adrian rubbed his temples, trying to suppress the chaos raging inside his mind. He had deployed every resource, every ounce of power at his disposal. Yet still—no sign of Nadine. Nothing. And it was driving him mad. His sharp gaze locked onto his most senior subordinate. "You had one simple task," his voice was low and cold, like a blade pressed against someone’s throat. "ONE TASK. Find Nadine. And what did you do instead?" No one dared to answer. "I'M TALKING, DAMN IT!" Adrian slammed his bourbon glass onto the floor, the golden liquid mixing with the shattered glass. One of the men swallowed hard and stepped forward hesitantly. "We... we've searched every possibility, sir. There are no travel records, no transactions under Nadine Elizabeth's name. It seems like she…" He hesitated. It seemed like she had vanished. But he didn’t dare say it. Adrian, however, already knew. A dark smile crept onto his lips. But it wasn’t a smile of amusement—it was the grin of a man standing on the edge of madness. "Vanished?" Adrian repeated mockingly. "Do you think Nadine can just DISAPPEAR into thin air?" He stepped closer, his voice trembling with rage. "Do you think she has magic? Do you think she can just vanish from this world?" He pressed a single finger against the man’s chest. "She’s out there," he whispered. "She’s hiding. But there is no place in this world that can keep her from me." THE FALL OF A KING'S CONTROL Adrian walked toward the massive window of his office, gazing down at the city glowing beneath the night sky. Once, he had felt invincible. He could have anything he wanted. He could buy anyone he desired. And more importantly—he could destroy anyone who dared to defy him. But now? One small woman had slipped through his grasp. One woman who should have been his, who should have remained by his side… had dared to leave him. And it was tearing him apart. His fists clenched so tightly that his nails nearly pierced his skin. I can’t let this continue. I won’t lose her. He took a deep breath, trying to regain control of himself. Then he turned back to his men, who were still frozen in fear. "If I can’t find her through normal means…" his voice was quiet, yet dripping with menace. His sharp eyes scanned them one by one. "From now on, we’re not just searching for Nadine." He smirked. "We’re going to destroy the world around her. We’ll hunt down anyone who’s ever helped her. We’ll tear down every place she could possibly hide. Until she has nowhere left to run." He exhaled slowly, his gaze unwavering. "Nadine can run," he murmured, his eyes gleaming with obsession. "But I will make her regret her decision." And in the darkness of the room, he let out a quiet, chilling laugh. The real game had just begun. A RAGE WITHOUT LIMITS Adrian had never imagined that one woman could break him like this. All his life, people had bowed before him. They had feared him. Including Nadine. But now? She had escaped. Adrian ran a frustrated hand through his hair, his reflection in the glass revealing a man he barely recognized. He took a deep breath, forcing himself to think clearly. There was one thing he could not afford to do: lose control. Because if he lost control… Nadine won. And Adrian would never let that happen. With a voice deep and filled with unwavering resolve, he turned to his men. "Starting tonight, increase surveillance at every airport, harbor, and border. I don’t care how deep she’s hiding—we will find her." His eyes narrowed dangerously. "And when we do…" he exhaled slowly, a wicked smirk forming on his lips. "I will personally bring her home." Adrian Callway never lost. And this time? He was determined to win.
