Chapter 59“Come in, come in,” Billycan said to Special Agent Fillmore when Louisa walked in with the man in tow. “Thank you, Louisa.” He stood up and extended a hand, which Fillmore shook readily. “Have a seat.” Billycan pointed to the visitors’ chairs opposite his desk.
“Thank you,” Fillmore replied, lowering his behind into the seat and crossing his legs.
“As I told you on the phone,” Billycan began, “we’ve managed to locate Ms. Kartz and Agent Meshullam in Australia, and they’re on their way back to Europe.”
“Well, yes. I’ve heard about it.” Fillmore nodded. “But that’s not something that could warrant the FBI’s assistance, as you know.”
