Chapter Fourteen

Stella’s POV

I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Like I can breathe again. I won’t have to leave the life and people I’ve always known. I won’t have to leave my brothers or parents. I can’t help the smile that seems to be permanently on my face. I feel Kai step behind me, wrapping those strong arms around my waist. He pulls me so my back is pressed against his front.

“Baby, Mav wants to meet his mate. How about we shift and go for a run?” He whispers in my ear with excitement and hope.

‘Please Stells! I want to meet Mav!’ Belle yapps in my mind, making me giggle at how excited she is.

“That would be great! Belle wants to meet Mav as well.” I say sweetly.

“Belle?” He repeats in wonderment. “That’s a beautiful name, just like yours love.” He says beaming with pride.

“Thank you.” I say already feeling my cheeks burning. We start for the doors of the conference room when everyone asks where we’re going. “Our wolves want to meet, so we’re going for a run.” I say to everyone while leading Kai towards the back doors.

I feel my excitement rising higher and higher the closer we edge towards the woods. I know it’s probably amplified from my own and Belle’s but it’s making me feel giddy.

“Okay baby. So since we haven’t marked each other and we’re from different packs we won’t be able to link. Stay close to my side the whole time. Okay?” Kai says gently while holding my face in his hands. I can’t help but giggle because he’s wrong. I can communicate with any wolf I want to. Mav included. Because of that I can link with anyone as well. Instead of responding out loud, I open up a link with Mav, which ultimately opens one up with Kai.

‘Kai.’ I whisper in his mind. He seems to think I just said that out loud.

“Yeah baby?” He says looking right at me.

‘I don’t need to be marked or in your pack to speak to you babe.’ I say, again in his mind. I watch at excitement flashes in his eyes as I call him babe, but then confusion settles in.

“Wait. How did I just hear you when your mouth never moved?” He says out loud. I giggle in his mind. “I can hear you. In my head! How?” He says with a huge smile.

“Remember those gifts I hold?” I ask, this time not in his head.

“Yea…you can sense extreme emotions and help calm them, you have this built-in lie detector, and you can communicate with anyone’s wolf…Oh s**t, that means you can open a link with any wolf you want!” He says, finally realizing how all of this was possible.

“That’s right! Now, let’s shift. Belle’s getting impatient.” I tell him and make my way behind a large tree so I can strip before shifting. I see him go behind the opposite tree to do the same.

‘Ready Belle?’ I ask my wolf.

‘As always love. Let’s show our mate just how beautiful we are.’ She says in her typically confident tone. What can I say my wolf is beautiful and she knows it. ‘I’m a part of you Stells. We’re gorgeous in human form and wolf form!’ She states assertively.

‘Whatever you say Belle. Let’s do it.’ I say with a giggle, suddenly nervous.

I push myself back into my mind, as Belle pushes forward for control. I feel my bones rearrange, my skin stretches and after just seconds we are standing on four paws instead of two feet. We make our way from out behind the tree and meet a huge black wolf that takes our breath away. He’s magnificent. His fur reminds me of the night sky, black and silky. His ocean blue eyes shine brightly. When his eyes meet mine my breath hitches in my throat. How can just one look make my heart stutter in such a way.

‘Exquisite. You my love are truly a Goddess.’ I hear Kai say in my mind.

‘You are very handsome baby. I have never seen a more magnificent wolf in my life.’ I say honestly.

Kai’s POV

Snow white fur and shining silver eyes. When Stella walks out from behind the tree Mav and I are left utterly speechless. She is the most beautiful creature I have ever laid eyes on. No one could ever compare to other worldly beauty. And she’s all mine.

‘OURS actually.’ Mav growls back.

‘Right, sorry bud.’ I say quickly.

When I look at her face I notice she is studying us as well, and by the look in her eyes she is feeling the same way about us as we are about her. She’s looking at us is awe and wonder. Her eyes finally meet mine and I can hear her heart skip the same beat mine just did.

‘Exquisite. You my love are truly a Goddess.’ I say in our link.

‘You are very handsome baby. I have never seen a more magnificent wolf in my life.’ She says sweetly, hearing her call me babe and baby has me feeling happier than I ever knew possible.

I move closer to her, rubbing against her. My wolf and I want to leave our scent all over her to ward off any other males. We want them to know she’s ours, and by the purring sounds she’s making I don’t think she minds. After we are confident, she smells like us enough, we nuzzle her neck and lick her snout making her bark happily at us. She then does the same thing, before setting off like a rocket. One second, she’s licking our face, the next she’s running away from us.

‘Baby.’ I growl out, as I begin chasing after her.

‘Catch me if you can babe!’ She teases back, I see her jumping over fallen logs and squeezing through trees. She’s so graceful as she does it, I am left completely mesmerized.

‘Come on Mav. Faster.’ I shout to my wolf, wanting to catch our mate as soon as possible.  

‘I’m letting her think she’s getting away, then we’ll pounce when she least expects it.’ Mav says excitedly, always one to enjoy the hunt. And this hunt is one of the most important of his life. The hunt for our little mate.

We watch as she runs towards an open field, and then when she slows down to sniff and look around, we inch closer to her. Slowly and stealthily. We crouch down. Just when we’re about to pounce on her, I notice her stiffen and begin to look around frantically. Then I smell it. Rotting flesh.

‘ROGUES!’ Mav and I growl out, rushing towards our mate. The urge to protect her higher than ever before. I’m beside her in a split second and stand in front of her protectively.

‘Kai there’s about six of them. I linked my brother’s and fathers. They should be here soon. Let’s try to distract them for as long as possible.’ She says quickly and then shifts before I can argue. I growl towards her, hating the thought of these disgusting rogues seeing her naked. But when I look at her, I notice she’s wearing a white dress. She stands beside me and runs her hand through my fur, looking down at me with a small smile.

“Well, don’t just hide back there. Come on out.” She says in her usual sweet voice, and with that comes six male wolves. Four in wolf form and two in human form. I watch as their eyes fill with what looks like admiration when they look at Stella, only making me growl even more ferociously.

“Jasper?” My mate says to the boy who is in human form.

“Hey Stells!” He says with a smile.

“Jas why do you smell like a rogue?” She asks confused.

“Crescent moon was destroyed and we’re the only six that made it out alive. We came to ask your dads if we could join your pack.” This Jasper character says.

“How? How was it destroyed and how did you survive Jas?” She asks softly.

“We were out guarding our Luna when the pack was burnt to the ground. A complete m******e. The Alpha was killed, and Luna couldn’t survive the pain of losing her mate and died as well.” Jasper says with a shaky voice, obviously upset about the loss of his Alpha, Luna, and pack members.

“Oh my god. I’m so sorry Jas.” Stella says rushing to his to give him a hug. Well until I growl possessively.

“Stella I don’t think you mate appreciates another male touching you. I also sense he’s of Alpha blood, so I should probably let you go now.” Jasper says in hushed tones, that I can still hear. Suddenly, the earth begins to shake.

Stella walks back towards me, wrapping her arms around my large wolf neck. “My jealous boy. I only want you baby.” She whispers against my neck, I growl in approval.

‘You better Goddess, or I’ll have to kill someone.’ I say back making her giggle.

Soon we see her brothers and parents make their way through the trees into the meadow we’re in. They go behind a tree and shift back. When they come back, they’re wearing basketball shorts, and Elle is wearing a similar white dress to Stella. Sebastian thrown me a pair and motions for me to shift as well.

“Don’t worry I got her until you come back.” He says, obviously noticing my hesitation to leave Stella. I nod my head and watch as she walks into his open arms.

I shift back and quickly put the shorts he gave me on, rushing back out towards my mate. When I come back to the field I notice four more guys, around our age have also shifted back into their human forms. Once Stella sees me, she rushes into my arms. I engulf her in a hug and inhale her delicious scent. All these unknown wolves around our mate have us on edge and feeling possessive. Not that we haven’t felt that since the moment we met this angel.

“Jasper you made it!” Elle says with a smile.

“You knew we were coming Alpha?” Jasper asks clearly confused.

“As of this morning I knew to expect you. I’m sorry I didn’t know this was coming before, if I had…we would have helped your pack.” Elle says sadly.

“I know you would Alpha. Sorry for just showing up like this. I didn’t know where else to go.” He explains while a forlorn look on his face.

“Nonsense boy! You are always welcome here.” Alpha Nick says reassuringly.

“Does that mean you’d accept us into your pack?” Jasper asks hopefully.

“As warriors?” Alpha Jayden questions.

“Because if so, of course. You’re one of the best fighters I know and if these boys are your team, I’m sure they are just as good.” Alpha Luca says with a smile.

“Really?” The boy standing next to Jasper asks optimistically.

“If that’s something you would want.” Elle says with a kind smile.

At this they all smile and nod enthusiastically. They all kneel before the current Alpha’s of the New Red Moon pack. Elle steps forward, a powerful aura is vibrating through her. It’s making me even want to kneel before her, but I’m able to resist a bit, which confuses me.

‘It’s because you’re my mate and future Alpha to her pack.” Stella says in my head, clearly reading the confusion on my face. ‘I can hear Mav questioning the same things baby.’ She says in her sinfully sexy voice.

‘Wow not even marked, and you can already read me, huh baby?’ I tease.

‘Sorry.’ She says with a pout, apologizing for getting into my head.

‘No! I mean, no baby you don’t have to be sorry. I was just teasing; I love that you can hear my thoughts. That means you can hear all the amazing things I think of when I think of you.’ I say like the love sick fool that I am, at my words she gives me that giggle that sets my soul on fire. I’m snapped back to our current situation when I hear Elle’s powerful voice mixed with her wolf’s.

"Do you accept in being a member of to the New Red Moon pack? Do you promise to accept me, along with my mates as your Alpha's and also be loyal to the pack?" Elle booms across the meadow.

“I do Alpha.” Was chorused by each warrior kneeling in front of us. I watched as I saw each member of Stella’s family, including herself touch their hearts showing the warriors connection to this pack has been make.

“Welcome to New Red Moon Pack.” They all said in unison. Seeing and hearing this family of nine speak as one was a sight to behold. Their bond with each other was inspiring, I hope to have one this strong with Stella and our future pups.

‘Thinking of pups already?’ I hear Mav tease in my mind, making me smile.

‘Like you don’t love the idea of Stella having our pups!’ I state back knowingly.

‘It’s all I think about, especially the way we’ll make those pups. Now grab her and mate with her. Show these warriors and all the other males who she belongs to.’ He growled in response; I shook my head at his instinct.

‘We can’t rush her; she has to want to mate with us.’ I say, clearly the rational one between us.

‘She wants. Belle told me.’ Mav says in an annoyed tone.

‘Well Belle and you are more animalistic than us. Stella may want to take her time, and we will go at HER pace.’ I say as calmly as I can. I only got a frustrated growl in return before he closed himself off from me.

“Why don’t we show you back to the warrior pack house and get you all settled into your rooms?” Alpha Jayden says with a stoic face.

“Sounds good, thank you Alpha’s” Jasper says with a grateful smile. “We’ll catch up later Stella and Co.” He says causing the five siblings to laugh. I’m assuming her brothers are ‘Co.’ I can’t help but scowl at this new wolf who seems to be very comfortable with MY mate.

Once the six new members are gone following Stella’s parents, her brothers give us a nod and follow suit. Leaving just us two.

“You know him?” I ask quietly when Stella looks back at me.

“Yeah, my fathers were alliance with his old pack. Their Alpha and Pa were friends growing up. We used to visit every summer and he’s our age. He was best friends with the future Alpha and was always around when we’d visit. We all became friends.” She said sounding a little sad at the end.

“You were friends with the people who died.” I said, it was a statement, but she answered it anyways.

“Yeah…I can’t believe they’re all gone.” She said softly.

“Awe baby. I’m sorry.” I said pulling her into my arms giving her the comfort she needed. She let out a sigh of relief when my arms wrapped around her. “Why don’t we head back, you look exhausted baby. You’ve had a long day.”

“Good idea. But…I don’t want you to leave.” She admitted looking up at me with wide eyes.

“Do you want me to stay with you tonight?” I ask softly.

“Please. If you can. I know you probably have to go to your pack, so don’t feel pressured.” She says quickly.

“No baby. If you want me to stay with you I will. All you need is to ask.” I say gently stroking her cheeks.

“Kai, can you stay with me tonight please?” She says sweetly making me smile.

“Absolutely love.” I say and give her a quick kiss before heading back towards the pack house. “Oh, wait! How were you dressed after you shifted?” I asked the question that had been running through my mind since I witnessed her do such an uncommon thing.

“oh..umm. Well, I just pictured myself wearing it before I shifted.” She says cryptically.

“Okay, but how?” I say with a laugh.

“Not sure, it’s something I’ve always been able to do since I shifted. Momma can do it also.” She says with a shrug.

“That’s pretty cool. Not going to lie, I appreciate the fact that you can shift and be clothed so no other males can see what for my eyes only. Mine and Mav’s.” I say with a smirk, which earns me her beautiful giggle. “Goddess I love that sound.”

“Come on Alpha. I’ll show you, my room.” She says with a sly smirk, and I can feel my excitement building at the thought of being alone with her, in her room. I can’t wait to sleep beside my mate.
