Her Revenge and Saviour

CHAPTER ELEVEN

EVIE POV

I awake to an unfamiliar beeping sound I groan and try to roll over but find it hard to move. I hear a shuffling in the room and crack open my eyes, trying to figure out where I am, and I see a strange male that I have never seen before. Upon seeing my eyes open he pulls his phone out of his pockets and calls someone all he says before hanging up is “she’s awake.” Next, he presses a call button and that is when I realise that I am in the pack hospital, I start to panic knowing how much trouble I will be in for coming here when another part of me realises that this provides a chance to escape.

As I am formulating my escape plan the doctor walks in.

“Hi Evie, don’t try and talk we have had to wire your jaw shut, it will just be for a few days since you now have your wolf it won’t take you too long to heal,” he says.

As I slowly nod my head the door opens and a man I have never seen before enters the room. His entrance makes Danika start jumping around while running in circles and howling in my head. His scent hits me, it smells like rain and home and I am totally lost as I realise that this is my mate.

“Mate” Danika says excitedly.

“I do not want a mate, and what man would want us after everything we have been through, after the way I have been used and abused for years?” I bite back.

“mate will want us, ask his name.”

“I can’t ask his name you moron my jaw is wired shut I can’t talk.” I roll my eyes at her. I am so lost in my internal conversation with her that I am not even aware that he has gotten closer until he sits on the bed and speaks.

“Hello, my name is Aidan, I am the Alpha of the Crystal Moon pack,” he says. Causing Danika to yip happily now that she knows this man’s name.

His voice makes me melt but then I register his words, this is Amanda’s fiancé, and know that he will reject me. He promised to marry that vapid nasty cow, and there is no way that he wants used goods, a tear falls down my face and I go to wipe it away but before I can he lifts his hand and using his thumb wipes my tear leaving a trail of sparks in his wake. He leans in and places a kiss on my head when the man in the corner clears his throat.

“Alpha sorry to interrupt, but you have a few things that you need to take care of,” he says

“they can wait” Aidan responds.

Suddenly the door is flung open and in walks Amanda. My heart drops and I feel like I am going to throw up. Before she has made it two steps into the room the man in the corner is standing in front of her blocking her way, he places a hand on her arm and turns her around.

“Alpha it doesn’t look like it can wait.” He says as he tries to lead Amanda out of the room.

“No, it can’t, and you take your hands off me don’t you know who I am,” Amanda says as she is manhandled out of the room.

“I will be back little one, and we will talk then.” He says as he stands and follows them out of the room.

I am shocked that he did not reject me then and there, that he spoke with affection. It begins to confuse me until I realise it is because I cannot speak, and therefore cannot complete the rejection and it must worry him that I will run if he is cruel now, making it impossible for him to force me to accept his rejection. I begin to formulate a plan, I will use him to get off the pack lands, I will tell him that I will not reject him unless he walks me off the pack’s territory. I am lost in thought as I realise that this will be my best hope at escaping this hell hole, I forget that the doctor is in the room, and I realise that he has been talking for some time.

I hold up my hand and get him to stop talking, and signal that I would like something to write with. He understands and tells me he will go get me a pen and notebook once he has checked my obs. He pulls out the blood pressure cuff and asks “may I” I nod my head and as he gets to work, checking my heart rate, which was apparently a little high, my temperature which was normal, and blood pressure which was also high. He said that it probably due to the shock of me finding my mate and that he will check them again upon his return with my pen and notebook. He gives my arm a squeeze and leaves the room, I am finally left alone and able to breathe.
