DAY 5: GIVE ME A BREAK

1794 Words
Luckily for me, today is an off day! And... I met a cutie! Well, here it goes. After the I managed to survive the most week ever during my intern, okay, possibly not the worst yet, I took the chance to rest for a bit, and untangled my emotions. Like what happened yesterday, ugh! I was so mad! Evan is a jerk! He is the most insensitive, sexy, hot, man I ever knew! He! He! He... He was almost like... Adam! Ugh! Why must the hot guy that I liked be like, if they were not wicked devil, they might be a weirdo. I need to raise my standard sooner. But enough about the past! Today is definitely the day where I enjoyed myself, doing the thing that I liked while creating some art. Yes! Today is the painting class! I took the class after someone at the cafe told me to take it, as he saw I used to play with the droplet of water on the table, to doodle something. He was like, "Wow, even with that tiny amount of water, it looks pretty! Pretty sure you have that magic hands!" Though, in my dictionary, the magic hands mean something else. "Haha, it was a natural thing to do, if you have hands." We both laughed out, but I had to go back to the office with these coffees. As I was about to leave, the guy, who works there, handed me something. Omg! Is he going to give me his number? He is cute, but not my type.  But it is better, than none, right? "Here!" He handed me some pamphlet. I took the flyer and read it out. "A painting class?" I hid my disappointment, but I took an interest in the details on the flyer. The guy then pointed out the place of the place. "Here, I go here too. If you're interested, plus, we can use someone like you to motivate others." He told me, with his voice sounds sincere. Deep down, I knew that this class...it may not have enough people. Plus, he looked at me with the puppy eyes. My weakness! But on the second thought, if I joined it, I can decorate my apartment's wall with my own paintings. So, it sounds okay, and the price is not that much. "Sure. I see you there?" I asked, assuring the guy that I will come to the class. "Great! Sure, see you there!" With that, so here I am, today! Ready for the class. I choose to wear something simple, but it said, look at me, peasant, kind of outfit. Who might know I will counter into someone, right? I locked my home and then proceeded to the class. It said in the flyer, it was not far from my company. I wonder, is the guy who works at the cafe is the owner of that place? I took the bus, the same one when I used to go to work. It was Saturday, so it means people used their own transport, rather than public transport. More free spaces for me! I waved to notify the bus's driver at the bus stop. Usually, the driver would not stop, unless, if I was a girl, which I am not. A few seconds later, the bus stops directly in front of me. I stepped inside to find out it was Uncle Choi in it. "Good day, Alan. Work?" Uncle Choi was the one who helped me reached my workplace safely during my earliest day here. After I moved out alone, leaving dad behind, I did not have many friends to help me around in this new city. So, to travel, I choose to go on the bus, rather than train, because I think it will be much safer to ask the driver if you were about to get lost. "Nah, I'm attending some painting class nearby. Know any?" We used to talk a lot, as I prefer to stand near to the front door of the bus.  "I never heard any of it. Do you know the location of the spot?" I nodded and took out the flyer from before. When the road hit the red light, I show it to him. "Ah, this place. It was an open space, been bought by some wealthy man if I was not mistaken." Of course, Uncle Choi knows it all. He always has his own ways to ken the information of the neighbourhood around with his friendliness manner.  "Wealthy man? Are you know, by any chance?" I actually did not care who was it, but since we need to carry this conversation together. Or he will hurt his backbone if I let him carry alone. Uncle Choi, with his hands that are never letting go the wheel, answering my question while his eyes still fixed on the road.  "I heard it from the ladies..." Figures. "That someone named, Paul? If I was not mistaken." "Ohh." I gave a short reply as I too did not know who that person was. For minutes, I stood there, pretending to view the pamphlet again, as well as to stop chatting, but will resume if he has anything to say. "When did you decided to join the class?" Uncle Choi suddenly asked when I was busy looked at the pamphlet. "Oh, about last Monday? A guy from the cafe handed this over for me, as he said I have that hands." He laughed it out, as he too knew about the meaning. FYI, I forgot to mention.  Uncle Choi is not gay, he is straight, but since he works that included interacting with people, somehow guys, I mean, the gays, always look for him to ask around about the night club. That kind of night club. I did not have time for that, yet. "Your class should be around here. Wait, I stop the bus first." Uncle Choi reminded me about the place. I nearly forgot if he did not mention it back. "You see, from the bus stop, go straight until you found the fountain, then try to look for the building that almost looks like a hotel. The place should be inside of that building, but you should look for it." I nodded, but then I realized. "Wait, so that means, that Paul guy bought only the place, right?" Uncle Choi giggled. "Of course, not, boy. He bought the entire hotel. You cant buy only the space inside the hotel, right? If you do, it calls rental. Now, get off from my wheel!" I waved him goodbye and got down from the bus. I took his instruction and started walking until I met the fountain. As I walked, I took the breath of the morning breeze. Ah~ Away from that company...wait no, the jerk in that company.  It should be plural, but since Tom was giving me a bit of pleasure, so he was forgiven.  I looked around and finally found the fountain. As I reached the fountain, I sat on it short walls around it and tried to find the building. Luckily for me, not most of the buildings looked like a hotel, so I immediately found one and walked towards it. "10 a.m. Still early, so I don't need to rush." I took at the time and bought a coffee to drink along the way.  I need a strong shot of coffee this morning to stay alert in the class. Or to stay active to look out for cuties. Though I walked deliberately to the hotel, I still arrived before 10. Guess I had to search for the classroom too.  Hope they have a chair.  It will be awkward to stand outside the class later. As I entered the hotel's automatic door, I headed straight to the receptionist counter as it was the first thing that I saw, minus the luxuries of the item displayed in it. I walked casually, not too inconvenient, to the girl who sat there as she smiled while I am approaching. She stood up when I finally reached the counter while resting my hands on it. "Good day sir, how can I help you?" She greeted me with a soothing voice. No wonder she got the job here. "Hey, yeah, by any chance, is there any painting class ongoing in this big hotel?" I asked, with a curious tone in my voice. She giggled, but in a polite manner. "Well, yes, we do. The owner in this hotel finds it fancy to have the art class in this hotel, as he says, it might attract the people to get to know the art better." I listened to her explanation with half of the attention. "Oh, yeah, yeah, I see. May I know where the room is? I might be lost in this big, luxury hotel if I don't know my way." I tried to make a joke, but it came pretty lamely, nevertheless the girl still laughing. Maybe it was a pity laugh, as she needs to serve the customer around. "Haha, well yes sir. From here, you should go straight until you found the lift, but don't use it, instead look into your left. The room should be there, as the door's handle is coated with gold." This time, it was her turn, but I laughed anyway. I thanked her and made my way to the room.  Elevator, left, ah! The room. I walked and stopped at the front of the room, and looked back at the pamphlet, again.  I hope it was not too fancy, with fancy people. I pushed the door open, just to find out that several people were already in their seat, painting an apple in the centre of it. Lucky for me, no one turned around to watch me clueless, watching what are they been doing. "Oh, it's you! Come in, come!" The voice from the left greeted me as he noticed me. It was the guy from the cafe. I bowed to him as a greet signature.  By any chance, is he Paul? But, if he is Paul, why did he bother to work at the cafe? He gestured me to my seat as he looked me still glued to the main door. "Are you, like the owner of this hotel, or someone associates with it?" I asked for confirmation, and he shook his head. "Oh, no! I am just the one who has to look out for anyone who has talents in art. The person who is responsible for this was the owner of the hotel as well, was my cousin. Since I live around, I decided to help him with it." Wow, a cafe guy who has a cousin, who is a possible millionaire. "Besides, it was a side income, and I was tight in my financial, plus I don't have anything better to do during the weekend, so, I accept his offer." I nodded and was about to take my seat, but I stopped, as I wanted to know something. "Does your cousin, Paul, isn't it? Is he coming?" As the guy was about to answer, someone opened the door, and it hit my back, but not too rough. "Oh, I'm sorry! I didn't realize someone behind this door!" I was about to give the guy my mean look, but as I turned around, my eyes were not believed to what I saw. "Speak of the devil! This is Paul, Paul, this is the guy with the hand." Paul smiled as he knew me somewhere. "Oh, hello to you again." "Hello to you, too."
