“Who is Bridget Vergara?” the officer calls out my name. I was terrified I didn’t know what to say anymore. I felt sorry for myself for killing Della Roberts. However, swore with my life never to confess and accept the mistake. Everyone looked at me; I stood up and followed the police officer fearfully. The natural facial expression wasn’t appealing to the police officer. I forced a smile that only involved my mouth. “What is funny?” the police officer questioned. “Does my face amuse you!” the police officer added. I was devastated; I didn’t know what to do at the moment. I walked through the women’s prison, the majority locked in the cells, and saw my life end there. “No way, I didn’t kill anyone!” I said to myself. I remember vividly a movie I watched about a juvenile prison. The conditions weren’t pleasing. I couldn’t imagine myself confessing to having committed the crime. Honestly, I remember seeing ’a GOBLIN’ and thought I was protecting my friends from its attack. Later, I realized I accidentally pushed Della Roberts. Does that make me a murderer? I was innocent, but the police officer didn’t listen to me. I told him what transpired, but he seemingly didn’t agree with me. I told him that I was the one who pushed his brother. It is unfair how the rest are implying that I am the one who also killed the rest. Unfortunately, Meera Katrina is also dead, so it’s hard for them to prove me guilty, I thought. “Listen; what were you doing next to the bodies of Amber Ray and Henry Sayo when the rest were outside the house?" I thought. "Listen; what were you doing next to the bodies of Amber Ray and Henry Sayo when the rest were outside the house?" I thought. "What were you..." I thought. "What were you?" "Did you by any chance strangle your friends to death?" the police officer asked. “I don’t remember a thing,” I told him rudely. “Did you by any chance strangle your friends to death?" ”The officer kept urging me to confess." I am innocent; I didn’t kill them! “I didn’t ask whether you are innocent or not, but did you strangle them? I remained quiet, numb, and confused. I began screaming and shouting for help. “Which help are you seeking?” the officer warned. “Get me out of here; I didn’t kill anyone,” I told the officer firmly. I tried to stand up my hands were handcuffed. My movements were restricted. I was under duress to speak. “But what if I will be putting myself in danger.” I thought. I was lost for a moment. I couldn’t help myself but cry.” I need to speak to my mother.” I requested. The officer detested it: "You don’t make demands here!” There wasn’t much development from my end; the officer was quite impatient and left me. He told me he was giving me time to consider my next life. If I needed help and was ready to confess, he was a call away. That information scared me to death. I took a deep breath and replied to him in a slightly unclear voice. “Thank you, sir!” I told him as he closed the door behind me. I was left in the cold room. The jacket I wore didn’t help much. I thought, "Could it be a technique to allow victims to confess quickly?” I thought: I wasn’t going to fall for that trick." The room had insulated windows and CCTV cameras installed. I wasn’t safe as I felt someone was watching me. I took myself back in time and tried to remember what transpired. However, the Goblin image was stuck in my mind. There was nothing I could remember. I resigned, put my head on the table, and closed my eyes to sleep.“Excuse me, officer, those children locked up in the cell need urgent medical attention.” A warden informed the officer in charge. “Why do you think so? Those are criminals!” he said. “No, sir, they have b****y marks on their skins; I am afraid they might catch infections in the cells.” The warden said. “Go ahead and organize for a transfer.” Okay, thank you.The six friends, John Paul, Sandra Roberts, Jun Suravi, Hailey Roberts, Damian Pena, and Laura Martins, were taken to the nearest hospital. First, they had to undergo a physical examination, and Dr. Wong was in charge of them. The doctor checked on each of them while recording statements separately. Something strange was common among them. From the doctor’s observation, the marks resulted from an animal attack. However, the effects were on their backs and chests at the exact spot on each of them. “ That is very strange! “Were they wrestling with an animal? Dr. Wong asked the very green police officer. “No, I don’t think so,” the police officer replied. “Then where are the marks coming from?" ” the doctor was unable to administer any d**g until a test was done. There were no stains of blood on the marks of their bodies. Even though the six had effects on their bodies, they couldn’t tell how they got them. It was a strange event. Dr. Wong kept touching and prodding parts of their bodies to understand what was wrong. Unfortunately, he didn’t find any more strangeness. As part of the examination, Dr. Wong had to check their temperature, and nothing came forth.I have been looking at my phone just to get an alert from my brother in South Korea, Chan Yeol, but nothing yet. “I hope these children aren’t planning to pull a fast one on us!” I thought. It is the first time I get an electric shock after holding the electric kettle with my bare wet hands. It came as a shock, and quickly I thought about Amber Ray. It has been almost 24 hours since I heard from her. The feeling is strange, but I don’t want to imagine the worst. “My younger brother, Chan Yeol’s, the phone is off. I think there could be a problem,” I thought. Nina wasn’t herself anymore. Her intuition felt betrayed and wanted to confirm the whereabouts of her daughter and her friends who went to South Korea for a vacation.Just before Nina leaves in search of Amber Ray, she receives the devastating news about the demise of some of their children. At this point, they were not informed who was alive and who wasn’t. Although, they were told that their children's mental state wasn’t good enough to even speak on the phone. Nina saw her world crushing down her feet. How does she begin searching for Amber Ray in South Korea with an ailing husband and two young children to fend so? Nina breaks into tears and laments that life is unfair. There is too much for her to handle. She couldn’t decide for herself and chose to remain in the USA while other parents went on her behalf. “There is no evidence against any of you, but can you can tell me what happened,” the police officer tells Sandra. “I remember two of our friends claiming to have seen a GOBLIN!” I narrated. “What is a Goblin?” the officer questioned. “It is a ghost!” I responded. “Where did you know the name of the ghost from?” the officer asks impatiently. “You can GOOGLE, sir,” I told the officer. “Who in South Korea doesn’t know what a GOBLIN is?” I thought as I gave the officer an evil look. I can’t imagine that my younger brother Della Roberts isn’t alive. I hope I am dreaming. An older woman was standing in the doorway. She was smaller than I ever imagined, thin with very pronounced cheekbones that shone in the bright daylight. I screamed in fear. “There she is….” I told the officer. “Who are you talking about?” the officer questioned. “The Goblin, it was here….” I screamed fearfully. “There is no one here, young girl.” The police officer affirmed. “You are possessed,” the officer said and asked me to leave. The police officers couldn’t find the main killers of the five children. Despite one testifying against her friends, the rest were not in a good mental state to say anything substantive. There were so many inconsistencies in their narration. One moment, someone speaks, and the next, she or he is screaming to have seen a GOBLIN. They had to invite the surviving children's parents as the state could not apprehend the murderer. Until then, the police officers were not aware that the children were visiting contaminated sites in South Korean places that had been prohibited for the longest time. While at the police station, Mr. Roberts, the foster parents of Dhruv Khan, and other parents walked into the station, ready to bear the news they received a day ago. When Sandra Roberts watched her father walk into the reception, she was filled with sadness and grief. “Why did my younger brother have to pay for our mistakes?” Sandra weeps bitterly. The officer allows them to leave as their parents wait for them at the bay. Not all of the twelve parents came forth to pick up their children. Worse of all, they were not informed who was dead and alive. They watched us move from the interrogation room only to save us were alive. We could see how some of them were still expecting their children: unfortunately, they were dead. “Excuse us, parents, these are the only surviving kids!” the officer told them blatantly. “What the hell!” Mr. Roberts couldn’t compose himself; he grabbed the police officer by his neck. He hadn’t seen his brilliant young son, Della Roberts. “Be calm; the investigation is still ongoing.” The officer told them. “The bodies of the five are in Hyeong Morgue.” The officer said to the parents. “I never thought I would ever have to go through this kind,” Mr. Roberts cries as Sandra Roberts moves close to embrace him. “Della Roberts was barely 15 years; his future has been cut short.” Mr. Robert curses as he moves up and down in the police station. He isn’t ready to collect the body of his departed son. The police officer must explain to him what led to his death. “Sure, Della Roberts had the biggest smile.” Sandra Roberts says as she begins running towards the road. She hasn’t forgiven herself for failing to protect her brother. “Dad, I don’t deserve to live,” Sandra tells her father when she is blocked from ramming into the main road. “Why do you have to kill yourself?” other parents questioned her. Sandra reveals to the rest that she and her friends visited the haunted sites, and the ghosts can’t leave them alone. Sandra Roberts also narrates how the deaths of the rest of the children came about. She goes ahead and shows the mysterious marks on their bodies. Strangely, there were no marks. Sandra confirms with John Paul, Laura Martins, and Hailey Beryl, who also can’t find the prints they initially had. They agree that a ghost could have killed their friends. Before heading to the morgue, Bridget Vergara begins laughing hysterically. It dawns on the parents that their children are victims of visiting the haunted sites. Bridget could not stop banging her head on the car. She spoke of Della, Meera, Henry, Dhruv, and Amber Ray, yet they were all dead. In her dialogue with herself, she acted as if their departed friends were right there before her. It was a scary moment. My friends and I had the best moments in South Korea. It was about time for us to embark on our studies when tragedy knocked us down. I was devastated to hear that first Della Roberts had gotten lost the last night before we traveled. A few hours later, four of my friends died under unclear circumstances. The memories I am left with are the numerous pictures we took while visiting different places. We were never ready to say goodbye to our friends at their funerals. However, our friends are now lost to us forever. I was never particularly close to each of my friends, but I loved their company as it meant a lot to me. Each of them had a special place in my heart, and I embraced their friendship. I grieve the loss of my friends, my confidants, my company, and whom I would never truly get to know. The idea they were gone was hard for me to wrap my head around, especially because some of us survived.
