Without acknowledging anyone, I made my way to the back of the room and stopped in front of the map marked Grid 6.
My stomach sank.
The area was enormous, and the contour lines told me exactly what I didn’t want to know.
Mountains.
Lots of them.
Apparently, I was going to spend the day climbing through mountainous terrain in freezing temperatures, battling sleet, snow and whatever else Mother Nature decided to throw at us.
All while being stuck with the three biggest bullies in the pack.
Could this day possibly get any worse?
“Looks like we’ll be doing our mission while carrying some dead weight,” Hayden sneered.
I didn’t need to turn around to know he was talking about me.
He, Sean and Troy sauntered over, their smug expressions making my skin crawl.
