I was standing beside Clay’s SUV when Hayden walked up to me. He didn’t say anything. He just stood there and looked at me, and from the way he was looking at me, I just knew that he could see that I was anxious about something.
"Do you still think I am going to hurt you?" he asked, sounding a little annoyed at me. "I have told you repeatedly that I will never hurt you again. I don't know why you refuse to believe me."
