Her Darkness

Chapter 2

At that moment, you could see her heart break. It shattered into a million little pieces. Blade turns and sees her and sets the girl down, the beautiful girl that stole him. He came up to you trying to explain himself but she could barely breathe. He says “I’m so sorry I tried to end it last night but you told me you couldn’t talk and I know that your life at home isn’t all that great. I just didn’t want to make it worse for you.

She couldn’t contain herself, she bursted into tears and started screaming “How could you do this to me I gave you everything I love you and this is how you repay me. I gave you a home. I worked my ass off to make you happy even if that meant hurting me.” she took a breath and asked “How long has this been going on?”

“That doesn’t matter..” he said.

“HOW LONG!?”

“Emma, please, calm down.”

Hearing him say my name was like swallowing a flame, she yelled “just stay away from me, you broke my heart!” She stormed off tears running down her face. Blade starts going after her but his new girl stops him.

Emma walked into her house with her parents sitting on the couch, she went to her room without speaking a word. Her mom knocks on her door and enters the room.

“Emma, baby are you okay? What happened?” Her mom is the only person she can ever really count on to be there for her.

“No mamma, I’m not okay, not one bit”. She hugged her pillow tighter, she ripped off all the pictures of blade and her, all the notes he wrote her were scattered around the floor, everything he ever got her was all thrown in different places in her room.

“What happened, what is troubling you?”

“Blade… he..”

“Say no more, come here”. Her mom wrapped her up in a blanket and hugged her broken baby girl. It is destroying her to see her so upset and knowing that she can’t do anything doesn’t make it easier. It was like she saw the happiness leave her completely. Her father came in and saw his wife holding their once happy daughter. He asked what happened. Emma knew he didn’t care, he just wanted another drink and he was too drunk to make it himself. Even though she's hurting, she got up and proceeded to the kitchen where she started to cook them dinner and make her dad a drink. She was making steak and potatoes for dinner that night.

While making dinner, there was a knock on the door. Her mom answers the door, sees who it is and steps outside.

“Blade, what are you doing here?”

“Where's Emma?”

“Why?”

“I know you know what I did, I can see it by the way you are looking at me.. I'm not proud, just tell me she is okay…”

Just then, Emma stepped out to tell her mom dinner was done and she saw Blade, “Momma dinner is done” she said with tears coming down her face. She shuts the door and goes back to her room.

“Blade, you need to go.”

“Yes Mam… Im sorry again..”

Her mom went inside and Blade went to Emma’s window like he'd done so many times before. He sees her sitting on her bed hugging a pillow, sobbing, and he taps on the glass. He can see the pain he caused her and there's nothing he can do to take back what she saw. He knocked again, Emma got off her bed and went to the window and saw it was him and opened it.

“What Blade, did you come here to make it worse for me to remind me that she has something I don’t?”

“Emma, I came to see if you were okay. I still care about you.”

“If you cared about me at all you wouldn’t have done what you did, and you would understand why I’m hurt and why I hate that I’m who I am.”

“I know that I hurt you, Emma, but that wasn’t my intention. Please tell me what I can do. I can’t lose you.”

She puts her hand on his cheek one last time and, with tears streaming down her face, “ You already lost me, the moment I saw you and her.” and she closed her window.
