Angela
CAP 1 The plain was about to descend to complete the landing at the Istanbul airport. Angie holds a tide grip around the arms supports of the chair and hold her breath. She hated the sensation but was also excited by the new life she was living right now, a life she thought to be only a dream which will never come true. Her divorce ended three months ago. Finally! Christian, her ex, put her thru hell and back. After 15 years of marriage, she finally has had enough. Told him one evening that she wants a divorce. Angela The hatred look on his face said it all. “Divorce?” he spatted. Then, after a few moments: “You want to divorce me?” the slow, deliberate words hit me like ice and send shivers down my spine and my heart raised to my neck. He laughs, but his eyes remained cold and fixed on me. “Y..yes” I stammered. “I had enough, Chris”. I took a deep breath and gather all my courage. “You keep a nice image, I give you that, and for a very long time I thought that I am the problem. All your family said the you are the ultimate gift for women, honest, hardworking, kind and loving person. And I believed them. I was young and thought so little of myself and you took advantage of that.” My voice was rising with each word. All the helplessness, all the pain, every broken feeling surfacing now that I opened the dor. He just looked at me with his mouth open. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing. Or he couldn’t believe that I was able to speak to him like that. Whatever the motive, I continued. “Everything I ever did was never enough. You always found something to critique about me, my action, my decisions, even my f*****g feelings and in all this time you did NOTHING! Not decisions, not plans, not changing the apartment, not family events, not gifts for birthdays, not remembering my birthday for that Mather. I even called your mother for you on her birthday!” I took a deep breath and wipe away my tears that were now flowing willingly on my cheeks. “I finished college and took my degree and you didn’t even said congratulation. All you said was that now I can bring more money to the “table “. Well, Chris, I was the f*****g table and you never brought noting to it!” The slap landed hard on my cheek and I felt blood in my mouth. I didn’t even had time to recover when the second slap came. I looked at him in surprise. He never hit me before. Of course, he insulted me, diminished me, treat me like I was nothing but never hit me. That fooled me into believing he was actually a good man. His grimace was like a crazy man. “I will kill you before you leaving me! Got it? You f*****g w***e!” He spat his words followed by saliva spread from his mouth. “You found another d**k? Hm? Mine is not good anymore for you? Let me remind you!” I stared at him in disbelieve. He wants to r**e me? The laughter came out sounding strange even for my own ears and I didn’t even realize that came out of my throat until I felt the pain in my chapped lip. He stopped mid step and looked at me, his right hand stopped mid opening his belt. “You want to r**e me? You mother fucker! That is wild!” My laughter continued mocking him. All of a sudden, I saw him, I mean really saw him for the low life he has been his entire pathetic life. And when you think I once loved him, feared him, longed for his approval. “Need I remind you what “potent” you are?” He took a small step back, confusion or maybe shame flicker on his face. Indeed, he wasn’t incredible stud. Average the max. And now he feels man enough to force himself on me? The confusion was washed away and he took out his belt, raping it around his right fist and approaching me with a death stare said: “There is no need to hold back now if you decided to leave, I can do whatever I want with you.” Took another step. “And I did say that I will kill you. But first, let’s have some fun.” He took another step. And another. When he raised his hand to strike, I kicked him hard between his legs. When he bended over, another kick put him down the living room floor. “You son of a b***h!” I screamed. “What the hell are you thinking?” I took a deep breath and I said calmly: “We are done! You are done!” I turned around and grabbed my suitcases. In my way to the door, I looked once back and I said:“ Goodbye, Christian! I hope I will never see you again. My lawyer will finalize the divorce.” He just moaned in pain on the living room floor. I opened the trunk of my car and put my stuff there, and only when I climbed behind the wheel I started shacking, adrenaline running off. I had finally done it! I left him! I am free! Pick up my phone and called Marci! “Hi!” “Hi, Angie! What’s wrong?” My best friend’s radar always on the spot. “What has he done to you? Are you ok?” I didn’t say any think for a while and Marci panicked. “Girl, are you fine? Please, say something!” “I left him, Marci! I’m in my car. Just packed a few things and I’m heading to a hotel.” Marci screamed in excitement. “Well, done, girl! Well, done!” “I’m so happy! You finally gain your freedom! And you’re not going to no hotel, you are coming here, live with me until you set your affairs in order.” I opened my mouth and I shut it. Theres no way Marci will accept no for an answer. And to be honest, I missed my friend and I was quite happy she asks me to live with her for a while. “Ok, baby, I’m on my way. Hope you have a buttle of wine!” “Just the kind you love!” ‘Marci replied.
