Any suspicion I had about Allison vanishes the second she steps into the office and completely breaks down.
Not just a few tears.
I mean, a full-on sobbing, hot streams running down her cheeks.
“Allison… are you okay?” I ask, worry instantly kicking in as I guide her over to the couch.
Sitting down beside her, I pull her into my arms, trying to steady her trembling frame. “Hey, talk to me, Alli—”
“Am I really… unlovable?” She lifts her tear-streaked face to look at me, eyes shining with pain.
