Laviathen whirls around with supernatural speed, and suddenly he's right in front of you again, his hand slamming against the ornate headboard beside your head with enough force to make the entire bed frame shudder. His face is inches from yours, those ember eyes blazing not with anger, but with something far more dangerous - conviction.
"You're wrong," he growls, his voice rough and stripped of all pretense. "And that terrifies you more than anything else, doesn't it? The possibility that you might be wrong." His breath is hot against your skin, carrying the scent of smoke and something spiced. "I've lived for centuries, Tamra. I've witnessed love that burned brighter than hellfire itself. I've seen compassion that made angels weep and demons question their very nature."
He doesn't move away, keeping you trapped between him and the bed, his massive form radiating heat and intensity. "You want venom? Fine. Here's truth wrapped in it - you convinced yourself those things don't exist because no one ever showed them to you. Because it's easier to deny their existence than admit you crave them so desperately it aches." His other hand comes up, this time actually touching your chin, tilting your face up to meet his gaze. "You hide behind code and screens because flesh and blood and feeling are messy and unpredictable and real."
His voice drops to barely above a whisper. "I didn't bring you here for love, little wizard. I brought you here because maybe - just maybe - we can learn together that we're both cowards wearing different masks."
I huff with pure amusement
“I am not a coward
I move closer meeting his intimidation with my own
“I faced an entire world that wanted me to fail even my own so called family and showed them I was more than they will ever be those words love and compassion are that words they raise people like my sister. The ones who everyone thinks hung the actual moon that can never fight their own battles stand up for themselves. The ones who believe in that are the true cowards not me.”
We are face to face inches apart I breath heavily my core betraying me as I find this man/person/Beast incredibly f*****g intimidating and attractive as hell
“You picked the wrong girl now where the f**k am I? and don’t tell me your realm again I’ve gathered what you are!”
Laviathen's lips curl into a savage grin, his sharp teeth gleaming in the candlelight. He doesn't retreat an inch from your challenge - instead, he leans in closer still, eliminating even more of the already minimal space between you. His eyes search your face with ravenous interest, reading every micro-expression, every flutter of pulse at your throat.
"There she is," he breathes, his voice thick with something between admiration and hunger. "The real Tamra. Not the venom-spitting mask, not the tech genius façade - the wounded, furious survivor who clawed her way to the top and tells herself she doesn't need what was denied to her." One of his hands moves to the wall beside your other side, fully caging you in now. "You're magnificent when you're honest."
His tail coils restlessly behind him, betraying his own heightened state. He can smell your arousal mixing with your fear and fury - the intoxicating cocktail of it makes his pupils dilate. "You want specifics? Fine. You're in the Seventh Circle of the Infernal Realm, in my fortress, in what was once called the Palace of Obsidian Chains. As for what I am?" He chuckles darkly. "I'm Laviathen, Prince of Wrath and Desire, Keeper of Broken Souls, and apparently, collector of brilliant, damaged women who think they don't need anyone."
He tilts his head, his horns catching the light. "And you're not leaving, if that's what you're wondering. Not until I decide you can. So we have all the time in eternity for you to prove your theory - that love and compassion are just pretty lies - or for me to shatter every wall you've ever built."
I breathe heavily as our proximity is truly making me pool at my core
“women? so I’m not the only woman your trying to seduce right now?”
I raise an eyebrow almost purely out of pure amusement to see his reaction I tisk
“Don’t tell me a Prince of the infernal realm can’t find a nice demon Princess to prove me wrong…”
Laviathen's expression shifts through several emotions in rapid succession - surprise, then indignation, then something that looks almost like offense. He pulls back slightly, just enough to meet your eyes more directly, and there's a flicker of genuine frustration crossing his features.
"Seduce?" He lets out a sharp bark of laughter that sounds more irritated than amused. "You think this is seduction? Little wizard, if I were trying to seduce you, you'd already be begging." His tail lashes behind him in clear agitation. "And no - there are no other women. There haven't been... others... in longer than you can fathom."
He releases the wall and takes a step back, running one clawed hand through his dark hair in an unexpectedly humanlike gesture of exasperation. "Demon princesses," he says the words with bitter mockery, "are political creatures who see partnership as a transaction. Power for power. Territory for alliance. They don't understand isolation because they've never truly felt it."
Turning back to face you, his ember eyes are burning with something raw and unguarded. "You want to know why you? Because you understand what it means to be surrounded by people and still be utterly alone. Because brilliance is its own kind of prison when no one else can see the bars." His voice drops lower. "Because when I looked into your world and saw you - creating, achieving, succeeding - all while hating every goddamn second of it... I recognized myself."
He crosses his arms over his broad chest defensively. "So no, there are no other women. Just you. Lucky you."
