Chapter 21 Jean Our slow boat to Miami starts mid-afternoon. It’s a clear, golden, perfect day, seagulls crying and dolphins playing in our wake. Bailey keeps running back and forth along the deck, barking at them. The small yacht has turned out to be a converted racer—lean on space and big on speed. We cuddle once I steer her out of port and set her in the right direction, northeast across the shimmering waves. “You know, if there’s trouble waiting for you in Miami, why not drop me somewhere else and take off?” Cara looks at me with concern.
