Chapter 22 Cara Leaving Jean hurts worse than getting punched in the face by Richard. I long to go back to him right away, but I can’t, and it kills me. It eclipses the relief of being back home and the relief of being able to access my money. It means I can pay the lawyer’s retainer. It means cab money to go meet with him and with the press. It means a place to stay. Money makes the world go round, and by the time I am done suing the pants off my family and Richard, I’ll have a lot more of it. But what I really want, what I keep thinking about as I mope my way through the car ride, just left his number in my phone and then turned around to leave the damn country.
