Georgie
I knocked on Sienna’s door and waited. Gazing up at the perfectly blue morning sky. It reminded me of Skye’s blue fur.
“Good morning Georgie!” Sienna’s Mum answered the door.
“Morning, is Sienna home?” I asked politely.
“Yep, she’s up in her room. Head on up.” She smiled to me. “Come down if you want something to eat!” She called to me as I walked up the stairs to Sienna’s room.
“Thanks!” I called back.
I knocked on Sienna’s door.
“It’s me!” I said through the door. I heard a rustling behind the door.
“Come in!” I heard her reply.
I opened the door and saw a complete mess. I gasped as I took in the state of her bedroom. I stepped in, over a pile of clothes on the floor and tried to close the door.
“What on earth is going on in here?” I stammered, gazing around the room in absolute shock. It looked like she had pulled every single item of clothing she owned out of her cupboard and thrown it across the room.
“I can’t figure out what to wear!” Sienna groaned and flopped herself onto her bed dramatically, even draping her hand across her face for extra effect.
“So you decided to try your pyjamas as well?” I chuckled, holding up her rabbit pyjama top that was draped over her desk chair in disarray.
Sienna smirked before a bubble of laughter burst out of her.
“I was desperate!” She cackled, flapping her legs and arms about. “Did you bring the jumper? I think I have an outfit sorted but it is centred around that damn scarf…” she muttered, looking me up and down assessing me.
I picked up the bag in my hand and handed it to her. She sighed as she jumped off of the bed and raced over to me. She snatched the bag and raced over to her bed. She rummaged through a pile of clothes on the end of her bed before pulling out a black denim skirt. She took her dressing gown off and threw it on the floor. I pushed the clothes on the desk chair onto the floor and sat down.
Sienna pulled the denim skirt on and put the purple knit jumper I had bought on top. She glanced at herself in the full-length mirror in the corner of her room and smiled.
“Finally!” She giggled, jumping up and down and clapping her hands.
“Looks great!” I complimented as she began brushing her hair to put it into a long ponytail down her back.
“Are you sure you don’t want to come today? It starts in an hour…” she wriggled her eyebrows up and down at me.
“Positive, I have to go and meet up with the elders to organise my birthday apparently.” I rolled my eyes. Sienna's head dropped with disappointment. “One of these days, I’m going to get you to come to one of these football games and you’ll enjoy it.” She pointed at me with a smile.
“Sure, sure. I’ll wait for the day.” I winked.
Georgie, we need to go to the elders in ten minutes. You need to come home! Mum linked to me. I groaned.
OK. I replied. Not looking forward to this conversation in the slightest.
“Your mum?” Sienna asked, looking at me from in the mirror. I nodded.
“I have to go.” I muttered and stood up from the chair.
“Good luck!” Sienna said as I walked to the door.
“Good luck with this room, you might need an excavator.” I laughed. “Has your Mum seen this room yet?” I asked, wary of being there when she did.
“Not yet…” Sienna grimaced. “It was all for a very important reason. I feel it is justified.” She smirked.
“Oh, definitely justified. How could she possibly be mad?!” I chuckled as I walked out the door.
“I’ll call you later to tell you all about the game!” She yelled as I walked down the hallway. I crossed paths with Sienna’s mum who was walking to Sienna’s room.
“See you later, Georgie.” Her mum said as she walked past.
“See you later!” I said, quickening my pace so I wasn’t in the house when it all exploded.
I was almost at the front door when I heard Sienna’s mum yelling.
“What the hell has happened in here Sienna?!” She yelled. I smirked as I shut the front door behind me.
Good luck! I linked to Sienna.
I’m dead. She laughed back. I shook my head and walked down the driveway.
I wasn’t even on the porch when Mum came barreling out the front door.
“We’re going to be late, Georgie!” She muttered as she hurried to the car.
“We have twenty minutes to drive a five minute drive, Mum. I think we’ll be fine.” I groaned and followed her to the car.
“We can’t be late to meet with the elders, it is just not done!” Mum huffed and opened the driver's side door. She got in and beckoned for me to get in beside her. I did as instructed and slipped into the passenger side door.
Mum reversed out of the driveway, running over the edge of the curb and muttering curses under her breath. She was stressing out. I knew that the elders would be putting a lot of pressure on her about me finding my mate. I felt bad but also, she could tell them to back off. She was the Luna.
“So what do we need to walk about with the elders?” I asked as we drove down the road to the pack hall.
“Well, we need to discuss your inherited abilities and how we can help you control them. We also need to discuss your mate and how we will make sure you have every opportunity to find them.” Mum explained. I rolled my eyes, looking out the window.
“Can’t I just find my mate organically?” I sighed, “why does it need to be so planned and scheduled? Nathan doesn’t have a schedule…” I muttered.
“Nathan also doesn’t have the abilities that have been handed down to us from the First Founding Wolves.” Mum explained. I fought the desire to argue some more, it wasn’t going to help. I was going to have this meeting, I was going to be decorated and prepped for every opportunity to meet my mate, and I would be an asset to our pack when my abilities reached their full potential.
Sometimes I wished I hadn’t inherited the First Founding Wolves abilities. I envied how my Mum was brought up. Keeping them quiet and only really finding out about them once she had already found my Dad.
Mum pulled into the car park of the pack hall and turned the car off.
“Hand break.” I reminded Mum.
“Thanks, your Dad always tells me off for that…” she grimaced.
I unbuckled my seat belt and opened the car door. I walked around to the front of the car and met Mum. She put her hands on the tops of my arms and turned me to face her.
“Georgie, I know that this is a lot but I want you to know, I am here to help you. I am team Georgie. I am going to try and make this as easy for you as I can. I really am.” She said, looking into my eyes.
“Thanks Mum.” I muttered.
Could you get me out of this all then? I linked to myself. Knowing I could never ask that if my Mum. I shuddered to think of what the elders really wanted me to do if this was the managed list.
I want to know who that wolf was this morning… Skye muttered randomly.
There was something about him. I replied absentmindedly. Thinking about his dark brown eyes that were almost black and his tall, dominant stature.
“You coming?” Mum interrupted my train of through as she stood at the door of the pack hall with her hand on the door knob.
“Sorry!” I said quickly, shaking my head to get rid of the wayward thoughts.
