THE SHAPELESS GIRL Once upon a time there was a girl named Cynthia who lives in Lagos state with her parents, but her parents have misunderstanding they have to part ways. These decisions affected the children badly. Cynthia also faces problems in school. She was always insulted that she had big breast and flat buttocks, These things also result in midnight thinking and crying, anytime her classmates insulted her, she always depend her self or pretends that she doesn't care. [Cynthia and her mother returned to the village because they could not stay in Lagos.] David: Hello Cynthia how are you doing? Cynthia: am fine. David: you really came to school early today. Cynthia: yes, I don't want to be late so that I can attend the school assembly. David: okay, me too. [Cynthia want to enter the class to get broom but David call out] David: Cynthia I don't know why you are flat like this, you have big breast and to top it up you even wear bra on top who does that Cynthia: David what is the meaning of this? Why are you laughing and insulting me what did I do to you? David: [still laughing and making mockery of Cynthia] Cynthia you don't even need to be in this school. [He turns and goes]. [The bell rings for morning assembly]. The student inside Cynthia class that was laughing out her runs out of the class to the assembly ground. Cynthia stays back because of what David said to her and the funny noise that student when making, tear where rolling down her eyes]. [The morning assembly have finished all the students have return to their classes]. Teacher: Hello student? Students: Good morning, ma Teacher: Good morning to you all? How are you all doing? Students: We are fine and you? Teacher: Am fine, thank you. You can sit down. [All the students sat down]. [Time have passed the student begin to go to their various houses because school have close]. [Cynthia work home alone with no friends, her face was showing a sign that she is not happy]. Cynthia: Mom good afternoon, how are you? Mother: Am fine, Welcome back. Why is your face like that? Cynthia: [tear flow directly from her eyes] Mom is it a crime that I have flat buttocks and big breast. Mother: no my dear, you are still growing, with time your breast will reduce and your buttocks will increase, wait a minute, did anyone body shame you Cynthia: [Looking at her mother, who is about to cry] no mom. Mother: Then why are you asking me this question? Cynthia: I saw my shapeless body in the mirror before going to school. as Cynthia said, those word she went inside her room. [She cried all her eye out till she get exhausted and fell out sleep.] [Knocking on her door] Cynthia wakes up . Mother: Cynthia dear are you awake? Since you come back from school you did not touch your food nor open your room door. Cynthia: [She sat up and go to the bathroom inside her room to wash her face] Cynthia: mommy am coming Mother: come and eat your food Cynthia: okay ma. [Next day Cynthia prepared herself for school very early she does have her sibling around to bath or wash because they are late. her father she just have to do her morning chores and eat, then go to school. she was done then headed to school] David, Mercy, Rita: [all of them shouted Cynthia name as she enter inside the class.] David: ooh Hello, welcome flat yash [Laughs] Cynthia: David you better stop insulting me Mercy: shut up your mouth, are you not ashame of yourself. Rita: look at all the girls in this class all of them have buttocks, but you, you are just flat like what I don't know [Everybody in the class is laughing at Cynthia] Cynthia: You people should stop laughing at me because I will not remain like this forever. David: [laughing] You are very shapeless and I cannot like anyone that is shapeless like you. Or do you want to remain gnash for your— Cynthia: I don’t have any of your time, my parents paid my school fees just for me to come and learn, not to come and talk about my shape in school. [With that she turned and leave]. [Bell ring for morning assembly]. [Student runs out] [light faded]. Narrator: [Cynthia was feeling rejected by everyone]. [Today girl’s in her class were discussing about the newcomer that came to their class]. Ruth: Oh my God that newcomer is too fine, he’s in the office with the principal. Joy: Really? Ruth: Yes na. Rita: [She saw many of her class girls gathered together, except Cynthia who was sitting alone and reading her books]. What is going on here?
