Chapter Two

801 Words
“Jon!” I yelled. I would get a stern talking to for that later, but I didn’t care at the moment.        “What is it?” Yuli asked me.        “The keys aren’t here.” My voice was hoarse from just running a hundred yards.        “They were probably on that guy.” Yulliana said pointed back in the direction of Jon, Logan, and the dead dude.        “I need to go find them.” I said then climbed off of the boat.        “Wait!” Yulliana yelled after me, but I ignored her and took off running to where Jon and Logan had just dragged the body.        I reached them within a minute. “Charlie!” Jon yelled when he saw me.        I ignored him and knelt by the body, searching his pockets, jacket, socks. Everywhere. The keys weren’t he.. I saw the flash of silver around his mangled neck. Aha. I yanked the necklace off and saw a group of three keys hanging from the chain.       “I needed keys.” I said to Jon, who looked pissed thag I abandoned my posy. I ignored his galres and ran back to the boat.        Back in the driver’s seat, the key worked. A smile formed on my lips. We would finally tear that so-called Queen down.        “They’re coming.” Yuli whispered and sat down in a seat.          I heard their clunky footsteps before I saw them sprinting around a corner. Logan’s beautifully sculpted face had a menacing smile. Jon was straight faced as always. He enjoyed this hunt on the inside, but would never show it on the outside.          I moved out of the driver’s seat. Jon would lead us the rest of the way. I was no good driving a speedboat. Jon jumped in and slammed the gas down, the boat was slow to move at first, but was soon a flash on the water. Logan winked at me from the other side of the boat. I smiled and looked over the water.         It was so clear and beautiful. One might think that these waters would be murky, but they aren’t. You could see so far down. And not a creature in sight. I loved it out here. We were so free of everything.         Jon headed west, it wasn’t long until the hulking ship came to view. Jon unloaded the dynamite from his suit. He had surprisingly packed a lot in there. Fifteen sticks. Logan pulled out the matches.          “So, what exactly is the plan?” Logan’s husky voice shouted across the boat, I could barely hear him over the wind rushing past us.         “Well, we can’t really drive up to the ship.” I yelled back, “We will have to swim there or something.”         “Charlie is right. We will have to sneak in, plant the dynamite, light it, and flee. You got the waterproof fuses right?”         Yulliana nodded, “Yes.” her hispanic accent was alluring, and thick.        “Then we will attach the bombs, connect the fuses and light them from a distance. Simple. The ship will sink. It has to.” Jon looked ahead and slowed the boat to a stop. He had doubt in his sea green eyes.         “Cool.” was all Logan said before he grabbed four of the sticks and jumped over the boat. I followed suit. Yulliana jumped into the water carrying only three, and Jon had the rest of the four.         After being on the water for so long, our bodies became adapted to swimming. It was effortless. I had gotten to the point that the cold water didn’t even sting anymore. And thanks to the over hot sun, the water was always kinda warm anyways. Swimming this mile or so to the massive ship only took us a few minutes. The water is almost my natural habitat.         Jon motioned for us to submerge completely. We sucked in a breath and went under. We had also trained our lungs to hold a longer breath. We could stay under for up to seven minutes before things started to get difficult.          I opened my eyes under the water and felt the initial burn of the salt, then I looked at the rest of my team, all  swimming towards the hull and under the net that was used to capture invaders.          We attached the dynamite to the wood with a goop that was activated by water. Then I swam over to Logan with my fuses in hand, and wrapped them around his, then Jon came over and did the same. Then Yulliana. After that, a long fuse was attached and we swam away.
