The Alice Plaza Shopping Centre, strategically located in the heart of the Alice Springs central business district, was smaller than the Yeperenye Shopping Centre a few blocks away. The Plaza’s lack of physical dimension, however, was compensated for by its location in Todd Mall, the hub of the retail shopping and dining area of Alice Springs, making it easily accessible to locals and tourists alike.
Thousands of people visited the Mall daily, either to shop for overpriced souvenirs, wine and dine in any of the assorted, outback-inspired eateries or simply to take a leisurely stroll along its length, window shopping or people watching.
