The next day, I woke up and got ready. Gwen sent a message.

"Morning" Gwen said.

"Morning" I said.

"They solved the problem and it seems like they are fine"

"That's good"

"Well, yeah"

"So, when are you coming back?"

"The day after tomorrow"

"Good"

"Okay, I gotta go. See ya"

"See ya"

I'm ready to go. Today was a little boring, maybe because usually I would be with Gwen and discuss things that really don't matter, but that's what made my day feel better, I started to miss her. I was about to go home, but Ben came to me.

"Sharon, hi" Ben said.

"Hi" I said.

"You're going home"

"Yes"

"Are you busy tonight?"

"No. Why?"

"We're meeting up at the bar tonight, would you like to come along?"

"I don't know, maybe"

"I'll give you the address, come if you want"

"Okay"

I think I'll come, I'll go home soon and rest. My cell phone rings, grandma calls me.

"My dear" Grandma said.

"Hi grandma" I said.

"How are you?"

"I'm good"

"I hope you tell the truth"

"Of course I tell the truth"

"The last time you said you had a lot of problems"

"Yeah, but now everything is fine"

"Are you sure?"

"Yes"

"All right, you know you can call me anytime. I will listen to you"

"I know, thank you"

"I'm serious, I know you have a lot of trouble there"

"Nothing"

"Sharon"

"Trust me"

"Okay, I'll call you later"

"Sure"

Grandma hung up the phone. I miss grandma so much, I want her to be here but it's impossible, I can't let her know everything. I will take a bath.

Ben said they would meet at 9pm. I went to the address given, Leila waved at me and I walked over to them.

"Sharon, I didn't know you would come" Leila said.

"Let me guess, Ben invited you" Alexa said.

"Yes, where is he?" I asked.

"You didn't know?" Addison asked.

"Know what?" I asked.

"We just wait" Maria said.

"Wait for what?" I asked.

People started cheering, I looked up at the stage and Ben was there with Steven and Jordan.

"Wait, are they a band?" I asked.

"No, they've been friends for a long time and they've appeared here several times" Alexa said.

He didn't tell me he was going to sing, and I didn't even know he could sing. Their voices are good. They got off the stage and came to us.

"You didn't tell me about this" I said.

"Suprise" Ben said.

"Sharon, you come" Steven said.

"Yeah" I said.

"That was good wasn't it" Jordan.

"Amazing" I said.

"Of course, we are amazing" Jordan said.

After a while someone approached us.

"Guys, this is the owner of this placeLouis Brewster and my uncle" Jordan said.

"Good show, I'll call you guys again if my singer has a problem" mr. Brewster said.

"You can call us everyday" Jordan said.

"I could, but if I did that your mother would say why did you let my son sing at your f*****g bar" mr. Brewster said.

"Oh come on, is my mom that bad?" Jordan said.

"We both know. By the way I have to go" mr. Brewster said.

"Okay" Jordan said.

Mr. Brewster left, we sat and chatted. I realized someone was watching me, some people to be precise. I think there were 4 or 5 people watching me from many angles. I pretended not to know.

"I have to go to toilet" I said.

I went to the toilet and called Charlie.

"Send some people over here. I don't know how many of them there are, but they are here" I said

"Okay" Charlie said.

I returned to them. Charlie informed me that some guards were coming and they were all around me. At midnight, I came home.

The next day, in the parking lot, I could see Oswald's men. What is he planning now? I have to be more careful, this isn't going to end well.

"Charlie. I need you, now" I said.

Soon Charlie came.

"I want you to be here watching everything, they're everywhere. I don't want any trouble" I said.

"Fine, but it seems it's better if you stay at home for a few days" Charlie said.

"No, I wonder what their plans are, and also if I hide he'll think I'm afraid of him because I'm not afraid of him at all. Do my bidding and don't get into trouble. One more thing, I don't want any fuss"

I got out of the car and met my friends.

"Morning, guys" I said.

"Morning" Addison said.

"I want to go to the mall this afternoon" Alexa said.

"You just went to the mall last week" Maria said.

"I need to buy sports clothes" Alexa said.

"Why?" I asked.

"I will accompany Jordan to exercise" Alexa said.

"Okay, that's good" I said.

"I heard you met Jordan's parents" Maria said.

"I do, and they love me" Alexa said.

"Really?" Addison said.

"Yes. His mother is very kind, even we cook together" Alexa said.

"That's good" I said.

"I know, we are very close. Even his mother often calls me" Alexa said.

"Looks like you guys are going to make this a serious relationship" I said.

We chatted for a while and then I had to go.

"That sounds funny and surprising. You should have told me"

"I already told you"

"You just told me 5 minutes ago"

"At least I told you"

"If you are here I will hit you"

"Lucky I wasn't there"

"Why?"

"You went through a lot"

"What do you mean?"

"I won't tell you"

I stopped replying to Gwen's messages. Class starts. After I finished I had lunch with Addison and Maria.

"How about we go together tonight?" Addison asked.

"I have to go to my aunt's house this afternoon" Maria said.

"Why?" Addison asked.

"Tonight my aunt and uncle are leaving they asked me to take care of Lulu and Sean until they come home" Maria said.

"And you, Sharon?" Addison asked.

"I have a lot of things to do and tonight I have to stay home" I said.

"Why?" Addison asked.

"Zoe is coming, she wants me to see some files" I said.

"Who is Zoe?" Addison asked.

"My aunt's seceretary" I said.

"If she is your aunt's secretary, why should she meet you?" Maria asked.

"Because I am my aunt's heiress" I said.

"Wait, you mean your aunt inherited everything she had on you?" Addison asked.

"Because she has no children and it is a family business" I said.

"I see, let me guess you're the only granddaughter" Maria said.

"Yeah" I said.

"What about your parents, shouldn't they be in control of everything?" Addison said.

"They are dead" I said.

"Oh my gosh, I'm sorry" Addison said.

"It's okay" I said.

"Why did they die? You don't have to answer if you don't want to" Maria said.

"Not. My mother died when I was 12 years old, they say she died fighting robbers. I don't know if that's true or not, but that's what I do know. Whereas my father died when I was almost 9 years old due to an accident" I said.

"That's very sad. You were amazing, they left before you grew up and you got through it all. You know if you need someone you can call me" Maria said.

"Thank you. I'm fine. It was a very long time ago, I lived with my grandmother since my mother's death and she helped me through all this" I said.

"You know, we didn't mean to open your old wounds. We are sorry" Addison said.

"No, I'm fine. Don't think about it. But please don't tell anyone, no one knows about this except Gwen. I don't want others to know this" I said.

"Okay. Don't worry, we won't tell anyone" Maria said.

"Thanks" I said.

I didn't expect to tell them all this. I mean, this is something I don't want to tell anyone, it's my biggest secret. The death of my parents was the biggest blow of my life and it changed my whole life. I have to come to terms with the past and that's what I'm trying to do right now. Some people will be surprised and look at me with strange looks when they find out what I've been through, at least that's how people who know all of it look at me.

"Don't look at me like that, I'm fine" I said.

"You know, what you went through was really hard. And what's worse is that you went through all of that at a very young age" Addison said.

"I don't like telling people all that because I don't want to be pitied, I don't need to. I'm fine, it was years ago. I'm fine" I said.

"Okay" Maria said.

"Can we not discuss this? It's a little uncomfortable" I said.

"Okay" Addison said.

After lunch we returned. After all classes were over, I immediately went home. I rested and called grandma.

"Grandma" I said.

"My dear" grandma said.

"How are you?"

"I'm good. Just by hearing your voice I'll be fine"

"How about grandma's health? The doctor sent an email this morning, grandma health is declining"

"I know my body better than anyone, don't worry. I'm fine"

"I know that, but please nothing is more important than your health, please. I was so worried when I read that email"

"Fine, but you have to promise me one thing"

"Promise you will let me go back there as soon as possible"

"No, I'm going there on vacation this year"

I hung up. I got up and took a shower. After taking a shower, I watch tv and then prepare dinner. After dinner I do some homework and then sleep.

The next day, Gwen sent some photos. I call her.

"You look good in that dress" I said.

"Thank you, but I'm so tired" Gwen said.

"Why?"

"Last night we gathered until 3 in the morning. I am very sleepy"

"Alright, get on with your sleep, I'll call you later"

"No, wait. I need to talk"

"About what?"

"Someone asked me out tonight, what should I wear?"

"Who?"

"His name is Jared. He's Jane's husband's cousin. He took me out tonight"

"Tell me something about him"

"He is 2 years older than me, he is quite handsome, he likes swimming. You see the second photo I sent, he's standing next to Bobby, Jane's husband"

I opened a photo of mom and a man standing embracing the groom.

"I see, wearing a dress it will look good"

"Are you sure?"

"Yes"

"Okay. Thanks. I will find a suitable dress, I will sleep now"

"Okay, bye"

I quickly got ready and then left. For more than a week I just woke up in the morning and prepared to go to college and then go home. Gwen comes and we spend time together and then she will leave.

I try to stay home because every time I go out someone will follow me and watch everything I do. They probably thought I wouldn't notice, but I could see the difference between someone watching me and someone who just happened to be around me. I'm sick of all this, I don't know what he's up to but getting sick of it. For more than a week that too I never saw Kevin and I felt a little calm. Not that I can breathe easy, they are everywhere, everywhere I go I see them. It's so annoying, it's as if I can't find peace even for a moment.

That afternoon Gwen visited me and we chatted and had dinner together. At dinner my cell phone rings, Zoe sends a few messages.

"Sharon. Where are you?. Can you come. I have to discuss some important matters" Zoe texted.

"Where?" I asked.

"I'll send you the address. When will you arrive"

"About 20 minutes"

"Okay. I'm waiting for you"

"Can't we meet at home?"

"We can't"

"Why?"

"My car broke down"

"Charlie can pick you up"

"I can't, it's very important come here"

"Okay"

What else happened to her? Usually she would come and discuss everything at home, why now she asked me there. I really don't want to go, but I have to see Zoe or she's going to go crazy. After dinner I changed and went to the cafe Zoe had sent me.

"Zoe asked me to meet her" I said.

"What happened?" Gwen asked.

"I don't know"

"Doesn't she usually come here and discuss everything?"

"Yeah, but her car broke down"

"Charlie can pick her up"

"She didn't want to, she said it was very important and I had to meet her"

"You sure this isn't a trap? I mean, it could just be a trap. You know the last few days you've always been with Charlie, he drives you everywhere and you're always under guard"

"I know, but if it's really important it means I have to meet her"

"Think again, we know who wants to harm you and they will do anything to get a chance. I don't want anything to happen to you"

"Trust me, I can take care of myself and Charlie will come with me"

Gwen came home and I left. I arrived at the cafe.

"Be carefull" Charlie said.

"Wait me here" I said.

I arrived at the cafe. I went inside and looked for Zoe. I didn't see Zoe. After waiting a few minutes I called her.

"Zoe, where are you?" I asked.

"Home" Zoe said.

"You gotta be kiding me"

"What do you mean?"

"You asked me to meet you because of something important"

"I didn't ask you to meet me, after all I left my cell phone at the office and I just took it"

"Someone's using your phone. Oh no. I'll call you later"

"Wait. What happened?"

"I'll call you later"

"Tell me what happened?"

I hung up the phone and immediately went out, but someone grabbed me.

"Sharon, we have to talk" Kevin said.

"Stay away from me" I said.

"Sharon"

"Enough"

"Listen to me"

"I know you sent the message. I ask you to stay away from me"

"What message?"

I walk away. He garbbed me.

"Sharon" Kevin said.

"Stay away!" I said.

"I need to tell you something"

"I don't want to hear anything that comes out of your mouth"

"Sharon, please"

"Stop, please"

"Listen to me, first I didn't send you any message, second my dad is after you and I know how to save you"

"Oh really? Should I believe you? How do I know you won't betray? Stop saying nonsense"

"Please, just listen to me for a second"

"Stay awa from me"

I came out of the cafe and immediately met Charlie, but a car stopped right in front of me. I turned and was about to run but they covered my mouth with a cloth and then I was unconscious.

I slowly opened my eyes, my hands tied. I was in a room with no windows or ventilation. I sat and looked around, I was alone, there was no sound from outside. Someone brought me here and I think I know who. I stood up and tried to open the door, but it was locked.

How long have I been unconscious. I have to get out, there must be a way. Think something. They couldn't just open the door and if they did they would definitely pull me out and maybe kill me.

I don't want to die here, not this way. I have to get out, I'm going out, I just haven't figured it out yet. How many hours since they took me from the cafe, I think Charlie and Gwen started looking for me. I knew they would definitely find me, and if they couldn't find me alive maybe some other way. I will not die here, not in his hands. I have to go.

I waited a long time, no sound from outside. Maybe I'm alone here, maybe there aren't any guards out there. I tried to peek from under the door, but I couldn't see anything. I have to get out of here.

Think one thing, think one thing, think one thing. There must be a way to get out of here. I sat down and thought of all the possible exits. How come no idea pops into my head. Why is my brain blank. I need idea.

If I can't get out of here quietly, then I'll come out by causing a ruckus. I can make a fuss and then they'll open the door and I'll run right through them, then I'm safe. I stood up and kicked the door.

"You damn bastard, get me out of here!" I said.

They should have heard me. I screamed again and kicked the door.

"Get me out of here!" I screamed.

Footsteps were heard from outside and the door opened. Two men stood up and walked towards me. Alright, this isn't something I was expecting. They walked towards me, they tied my neck and attached another rope to a pipe. I tried to move forward, my neck was choking.

"If I were you, I wouldn't do that. It's a gas pipe and if it leaks you'll suffocate here" he said.

They're out, damn it. I sit down, it's like wearing a very tight necklace. I couldn't move anywhere because if they were right I would suffocate to death. I was very angry and upset, but there was nothing I could do.

For a moment I thought about suffocating instead of being killed, but I didn't want to die yet. I'm not ready to die yet. I have to get out of here.

That f*****g Oswald must be laughing thinking he's going to win, but I won't let that, I won't let him think he won.

After a few hours, they opened the door. They cut the rope around my neck and pulled me out. They grabbed my hand. The more I tried to get away from them the more they squeezed my hand. As if they were going to crush my bones.

We walked through the hall, no windows. It looks like this is a warehouse, if this is a warehouse there must be a back door, I just need to find out where, and if there is no back door I will face whatever is in front of it.

I tried to untie my hands. The moment the knot untied I stopped walking. My whole body was shaking and they started looking at me, if I fail I die.

"Walk, b***h" he said.

I dropped the rope and it stuck right in his face and kicked the second man. I'm running straight back, there's no way out, it's a dead end. Right beside me there was a door, I opened the door. In the corner of the room there is a door, I hear their voices, I try to open the door, it seems the door is jammed. I pulled the door as hard as I could until it opened. I ran outside, the sun was already shining. I don't know how long I was in there, but I think it's been long enough.

They were after me, of course. I kept running away, I ran as fast as I could with the strength I had left. They started firing some shots, I won't stop. I don't know where I am, they took my cell phone I can't call anyone.

Their voices are starting to fade, I think I've come a long way. I stopped, now I'm in the middle of the forest. I need a drink, I'm very thirsty. I guess now what I have to fear are the animals that will appear, I hope not snakes or poisonous animals. I walked with the last of my strength, trying to find a way out. I won't scream or make any sound because they will find me for sure.

Now I really am on the verge of death. I would die if caught, I would die if I met a venomous animal, and I would die of dehydration and exhaustion. Turns out I had many options for dying. Survive from the crocodile hole, into the lion's den. Hold on, I just need to endure. My breathing is irregular and my legs are so tired, I don't know how far I can run.

I heard the sound of twigs hitting something, I knew it was them. I got up and ran as far as I could. Keep running, I gotta keep running, I can't be caught. I could feel my heart beating so fast and my legs that could barely run anymore. I'm going to die here, I know that.

I kept running further and further into the forest and they kept chasing me. I run, run, and run as fast as I can, I can't hold on. How far I've gone, I don't know. I don't know what I'll meet up ahead, the only thing left is hope.

I ran and guessed what was in front of me, something I didn't expect. Kevin, he's standing not far from me. He looked at me and he was holding a gun.

"Kevin. Don't" I said.

I turned around and there were 5 of Oswald's men behind me. What can I do? At least I tried. I looked at Kevin. I know what's coming, I think the end is drawing near. I looked at him, he didn't say anything. There was no sound but the sound of leaves in the wind and the chirping of birds that I couldn't see.

"Kevin. Please" I said.

I know he won't care even if I cry and beg him. He raised the gun and pulled the trigger. First the gunshots, the second the bullets hit my body. I looked at his face as I fell to the ground.

So this is how I'm going to end up. Shot someone who almost entered my heart. Funny, and sad. I could feel the blood coming out of the wound. Blood started to cover my hands. They just stared at me dying right in front of them. Kevin took out his cell phone.

"I've finished it" he said.

He's right because this is the end, the end of my life I guess. They're gonna let me die here. I looked into his eyes before everything went black.
