Second Chances: Sapphire

Attack

Why did I think this was turning into something. I let myself believe. I brought down all the walls I had put up after all this time. I left his territory and him for the second time.

"Coffee?" Henry asked as I entered the penthouse.

"Yes, please," I replied. I started to take off my clothes and walk over to my room. I went for a quick shower and then got dressed. I sat on a barstool and drank my coffee as Henry gave me a concerned look.

"U okay?" he asked.

"Yeah," I said softly.

"I'm sorry," he said.

"Me too," I whimpered. "I'm going to go take a nap." I walked over to my room and threw myself on my bed. I closed my eyes and felt my self drift off to sleep soon after. 

 Unfortunately,  I had the same nightmare I used to have every night before we came here. I was being chased by a ferocious creature. He was howling and getting closer with every stride. I was panicking and sweating. I wanted to scream but I couldn't. I ran until I fell to the ground. The creature hovered over me and all I saw was red. I suddenly woke up and shot up from my bed. I looked at the time and realized it was only four. I got up and went to go look for Henry.

"Want to go have dinner," I said.

"Dinner or Din.ner, " he asked.

"Both," I said.

"Good," Henry said. We both took off and went to go get dressed.

We headed to a fancy restaurant that Marius recommended. Henry didn't really need to eat but he always enjoyed taking me out to dinner and showing me the new cuisines of the world. We were having a great time but I knew Henry was getting hungry or should I say thirsty. I was going to take Henry to one of his favorite clubs so he can drink from one of the many willing blonde females there but I decided to be generous and let him have a special treat. As we started to walk back to the car he asked me if I was sure. I tried to tell him I was but he didn't believe me. He thought I was only doing it so I could mask my pain and emotions about Christian.

"HELP!!!" an unknown voice shouted. We ran with superhuman speed to where it was coming from. There was a female laying on the floor crying and panicking. Henry ran up to her and notice she was bleeding and had several defensive wounds on her arms. Henry and I both felt something coming.

"Take her!," I shouted.

"I won't leave you," Henry said.

"GO NOW!" I demanded. Henry ran to the female and carried her away to safety. Soon I was taken back by the sight before me. Two familiar vampires ready to fight.

"Miss me," Jessica said. I only had my chain whip with me but that was enough. I uncoiled it from around my neck and whipped it on the ground. I wasn't backing down because I was outnumbered and I sure as hell wasn't scared. She lunged towards me and I fell to the ground.

"Why do you think you are strong than me?" she asked.

"Because I am," I replied. I pushed her off and stood back up. I ran towards her and snapped my whip at her. It sent electric shocks all through her body. The male vampire came at me and I elbowed him in the gut.

"Lincoln," Jessica cried out. I kicked him and sent him flying through the air. I turned back around and walked towards Jessica. I kicked her in the stomach and then grabbed her by the hair. She tried to pull me off but I knew I was stronger. She looked shocked and pissed.

"You're going to pay," she said.

"mmhmm," I said still dragging her by the hair. She grabbed my wrist and used her strength to flip us both over. I hit the ground hard. She grabbed my head and slammed it to the ground. I tripped her as she tried to get up.

"b***h," she hissed at me.

"Watch your mouth, little girl," I said. I crawled over to her and started to punch her face. She tried to push me off but I slammed her back on the ground. We both got up with super quick speed and she charged at me but was suddenly stopped by a body standing in front of me.

"Christian," I said.

"Well look at this," she said. "Here to save your new precious mate."

"I think you need the saving," I laughed.

"Both of you relax," Christian roared. "What are you doing here?"

"Are you talking to me or your girlfriend," I said. Christian gave me a death stare and I just laughed.

"Answer me," he snarled.

"My, my still so aggressive and so dumb," Jessica said. He growled at her and then walked closer.

"If you don't tell me I'll just beat it out of you," he said.

"Are you could just beat her," I said.

"Oh girly, he would never hurt me," she said. I got angry and tried to run towards her but was stopped by Christian.

"Look, I am not here to talk all night," I said.

"Shut it," Christian said. I huffed and swung my hair in his face.

"Trouble in paradise," Jessica squeeled.

"You hush," Christian said. "It's time to end this."

"As much as I would love to, I have things to do and creatures to kill," Jessica sneered. She then suddenly disappeared.

"Are you happy," I said. "You let her get away with all that chatter."

"Well excuse me for trying to uncover her plan," he said.

"We would have stopped her plan if we would have just killed her," I snapped. I sighed and started to walk away.

"Wait," he said. I didn't listen and kept walking back to Henry's car. Christian was still following me but I didn't turn around or acknowledge him.

"Please, just let me explain," he said. His voice was so soft and gentle I almost felt bad.

"What?" I asked.

"I'm sorry," he said.

"I know, but sooner or later you're going to have to do something about her before someone else does it for you," I said. He looked hurt but he knew I was right. As soon as we approached the car he opened the driver door for me. Before I could get in he pinned me to the car. He was staring deep into my eyes and I could feel our hearts beating in unison.

"I .. ," he couldn't finish his sentence. I leaned in and kissed him. He placed his hands on my waist and I ran my hands through his hair. He finally let go and backed away.

"I need to go," he said.

"Me too," I replied. I got in the car and drove off. I thought about the kiss all the way home. As soon as I reached the door I was reminded of our guest. I could sense her presence and I knew she was asleep.

"She okay?" I asked

"Yeah, but she did get one hell of a beating," Henry said.

"I want to kill that b***h," I said.

"So the girl is a wolf," Henry said.

"I know," I replied. "I don't know what that evil bitches plan is but she can't keep killing innocent people." Henry walked me over to his room and started to undress me. I felt his cold hands on me and I felt a shiver run down my spine. The contrast between my heat and his cold hands was amazing. He handed me one of his t-shirts and I put it on. He brushed my hair and I swept it to the side.

"Drink," I said. I had almost forgotten he hadn't had any blood today. He looked worried but I gave him a reassuring smile. He leaned down closer to my neck and teased me a bit. He then sank his teeth into my neck and I whimpered a bit. I started to moan as he deepened the bite. As soon as he was done he licked over the wound and licked his lips to catch a few of the blood smeared on his lips. I kissed him and then went to his bed to sleep.
