Lizzie's plan was to make contact with an old acquaintance of Lincoln and use him to draw him out. We waited to hear back from this contact and began to ready the coven for a fight. Some of us used to wars and battles.
"Ben says Lincoln took the bait and will meet him at Lunar," Lizzie said.
"Why there," Marius asked her.
"I guess he is trying to avoid running into vampires. He just killed more than a handful he knows there are others looking for him now," Lizzie said. Lunar was a Lycan club until it was abandoned and used by wolves. We had only a few hours before the next nightfall. This would end tonight.
"A coven full of vampires trying to enter a wolf hang out, oh that will be no problem at all," Henry said.
"Let them try and stop us," I said. We finally got word of their arrival and left to confront the traitor.
We reached the club and of course, they sensed all the vampires and assumed we were there to start trouble. I let my scent out and they could sense what I was and how powerful at that.
"Let us in!" I said harshly. We entered the club and met up with Ben who was sitting alone.
"Where is he?" I asked angrily. He took a sip of his drink before answering.
"He never showed," Ben spoke.
"Damn it!" I shouted. "Do you know where he is?" Ben never answered but I noticed the room went very quiet at that moment. I looked around and everyone was staring at us.
"What do we have here," one wolf said. They got up from their seats and stepped closer to us.
"Trap?" Henry asked.
"Looks like it," I replied. "Why are you on her side?"
"We want power and to be more than just a simple wolf or omega," The biggest of them all said.
"She promised you power and rank but your all going to die so wrong choice," I said. They quickly lunged at us and we all stepped aside and began to fight. We weren't outnumbered but some of these wolves were strong. Luckily we were all skilled and old enough to know their tricks and this room was far to small for them to shift. I was fighting two of the men when I suddenly saw in the corner of my eye, Jessica. She had her evil little smirk that drove me crazy. I pushed the two men to the opposite side of the room and chased after her. Henry called out to me but I didn't stop. When we finally made it outside I saw her vampire army standing behind her.
"Come and get me," she said.
"You will die tonight," I said. I let out my hands and created energy balls and threw them at her and her army. They all looked shocked and scared. I then created an even bigger one and threw it at the center of their line. Most of the vampires disintegrated. Jessica tried to sneak up on me using her vampire speed but I caught her by the throat.
"What are you," she said.
"Everything you wish you were," I said slyly. Some of her men tried to help her so I threw her onto a wall. They grabbed me by both arms and tried to knock me to the ground. Suddenly Henry appeared and grabbed two of the men and snapped their necks.
"You okay?" he asked.
"Yeah," I said softly. I got up and looked for Jessica who was barely getting up. I walked over to her and grabbed her by the throat again.
"It's over," I said. She tried to laugh but it was hard for her to let out.
"You stopped nothing," she said. Lincoln then appeared.
"Lincoln, help me," she pleaded. He looked around and then back at her.
"You were a fool to come. I told you it was a setup," he said to her. She looked confused and pleaded with him once more.
"Help me," she cried out. It was almost eerie to see this scene. Lincoln looked unconcerned that his allies were in danger.
"So, go ahead kill her," he said. Was he taunting me? I guess she wasn't the mastermind at all.
"WHAT!" she shouted. I was distracted so she punched me the stomach and ran to him. "Lincoln, what are you doing." She tried to grab his hand but he slapped her's away. He suddenly pulled out Mikhail's dagger.
"Where did you find that?" I asked.
"Well one of the vampires we killed last night knew exactly where to find it," he said.
"What? How?" I asked.
"His name was Silver and he was just trying to protect his dear sister," Lincoln explained.
"Anastasia," I said.
"Yes, that's it. Did you know her?" he asked.
"You bastard," I said.
"Did they tell you where the lycan heir is?" Henry asked.
"No, they didn't know but I don't care I have what I want," Lincoln said.
"That thing is useless without the heir," Jessica said. Suddenly Lincoln lifted the dagger and aimed it at her throat. He shocked everyone but me with what he did next. He stabbed himself with the dagger and electricity flowed out of it and into him.
"No!" I shouted with all my might. He leaned forward and again grabbed Jessica but this time by her hair. He was going to slit her throat with the dagger but then a wolf appeared and knocked them both down. Lincoln ran away with the dagger still in his hand and we were all left there. Jessica's army soon followed but she stayed on the ground looking defeated. I walked over to her ready to end her life but Christian in his wolf form stood in front of me.
"You can't be serious," I said. "MOVE!" He moved closer to her and kept his protective stance.
"I guess he wants me, alive," she said.
"That is not his choice to make," Marius said as he came out of the club. "The rest of the wolves are dead."
Marius tried to approach Christian but he just growled and Liam and Cole came to back him up.
"Enough!" I shouted. "We won't let her live." He used his mind link to tell me to have mercy and that she would die but we needed her help to understand Lincoln's next move. I took a deep breath and walked away.
"We will meet you back at the packhouse," I said sternly.
It took us twenty minutes to get to the packhouse. Only Marius, Henry, Lizzie and I came. The rest of the coven stayed behind. They sat Jessica in a chair with her hands tied behind her back. Christian immediately came to my side.
"Can we talk," he said.
"Kill her!" I shouted. He shrugged his shoulders and walked over to Jessica.
"Karma's a b***h," he told her.
"Is that why you won't kill me, to see me suffer or is it because you can't bring your self to hurt me," she said.
"I can," I said. "Don't push your luck. I can easily kill you and you know that."
"Did you know your mate is on a whole other level of freaky," Jessica told Christian.
"What do you mean by that?" he asked.
"It's nothing," I said. "She is just stalling."
"Don't we have a bigger problem," she said.
"The vamp is right, what did that dude do to himself," Liam said.
"He stabbed himself with some freaky looking dagger," Cole said.
"Why did he do that?" Christian asked Jessica.
"I don't know," Jessica said. "We were looking for that dagger to kill the Lycan heir, I told you that." I saw Christian's face drop. He didn't know I already knew of his betrayal.
"I can explain," he said to me. I put up my hand and hoped he would stop talking.
"Sapphire, it's almost time," Henry said. I walked over to Jessica.
"What," she said. I smacked her across the face as hard as I could and she fell over on her chair.
"You knocked her out," Cole said.
"Yeah, I need you to take me to a basement or cellar or anything with no windows and only one door, "I told Christian. He looked at me with a puzzled expression. "I am going to shift tonight." He looked even more confused but started to get the idea and became nervous and erratic. He led me to a basement with no windows and stairs leading to the only exit/entrance. It was cold but soon I wouldn't care. I told him to bring me any rope, chains or possibly handcuffs he might have on hand. He came back five minutes later with some rope and handcuffs.
"The handcuffs are Cole's," he said.
"I don't think I would have used them had they have been yours," I said. I told Henry to tie the rope and of course, he used to this and knew how. I grabbed the handcuffs and told Christian to place them on my wrist behind my back.
"None of this will hold me for long but it will help," I told him. "I need you to stay far away from this basement. Don't worry about me and don't come looking for me. I'll be fine soon enough."
I kissed him as passionately as I could and let them continue tying me down.
"Don't let anyone come into this room either," I said. He looked nervous and sad to see me like this but I knew it was the only way.
"It's time," Henry said. Henry led Christian out of the room and I felt my heart start to race.
"And so it begins," I said.
