"We have a problem," Henry said.
"What's wrong," I replied.
"Looks like Jessica was looking for something in particular after all," he said.
"Okay, what," I said impatiently.
"Mikhail's dagger and the Lycan Heir," he said. I couldn't breathe and I couldn't move. I haven't heard anyone speak about the dagger or the Lycan heir for over 1000 years. I fell to my knees. Everything flashed like dreams and nightmares swirling around in my mind. My love, my family, my world before it shattered to pieces. The room started to shake and Henry ran to me.
"Calm down," he said. "Your okay, I'm here."
"What does she want," I said.
"I'm not sure but I guess she wants to find the dagger and kill the heir," Henry said.
"It's not like she can find either," I snapped. "I'm definitely going to kill her now."
"Do you have any idea where the dagger is?" Henry asked.
"At the bottom of some ocean, I thought," I told him.
"Well, we know she can't get to the heir, so there is that," he said.
"Yeah, there's that," I said softly.
~
Cole took us back to the Moonshine pack territory. It wasn't as small as the River wolf pack but it wasn't big or known of like my pack. The scene in front of us was terrible, to say the least. They didn't even spare the pups. Everyone was dead. Some mothers hovered over their young. Looks like they put up one hell of a fight though. It did shock me to see this not because it was gruesome but because not too long ago it was her and I doing these vicious acts.
"So, where is the historical crap and such," I said to Cole.
"In the alpha's office," he replied. I walked over and there in plain sight were hundreds of papers laid out everywhere. I picked one up and it spoke of the Lycan legends and how they were created. Another one was talking about some dagger used to wipe them all out. Well, I knew that wasn't true. It had some known locations on where these lycans lived but that was centuries ago. Now they were taken over by wolves.
"Ah, so that's what you want. You want to see if someone stumbled upon this dagger," I thought.
"Smart boy," I heard the devil say. "Can we talk, alone," Jessica said.
"No! I rather just kill you," I said as I lunged towards her. She used her speed to move across the room.
"If you listen you might be able to help your little pet," she said.
"DON'T!" I shouted.
"Last chance," she said. I mind linked the pack and told them to go. Cole didn't want to go but I made my self clear and told them to go. No questions asked.
"So, speak," I said sternly.
"I'm looking for something and I need you to help me find it," she said.
"Excuse you, why on Earth would I help you," I said shocked.
"To save your mate, of course," she said.
"That's the second time you said that so explain yourself," I said.
"Well, my dear Christian, I plan on waking up the very first vampire and killing him but to do that I need a special dagger to kill the Lycan heir with and get his powers to be strong enough to kill the vampire king and rule both supernatural creatures for all eternity," she said.
"Um, that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard and WHAT!" I said.
"I'm not strong enough to kill Darien, our current vampire king. To get enough power and I mean power I want to kill the heir to the Lycans and the very first vampire. Your kind never established a king or emperor or anything. Some packs were big some were small but the way I saw it you were all weak in the end. Now Lycan's had a king and so do us, vampires. To kill the current king, I will use the powers of the 1st king and rule overall. No one will ever be able to dethrone me or challenge me for that matter," she said.
"That's ridiculous," I said. "What makes you think I care to help you achieve this impossible goal of yours."
"As I said, your mate will die otherwise," she said. "Your mate is a hunter and I know she has knowledge on all kinds of supernatural creatures. Hunters aren't immortal so they pass down all they know through the ages. She must have heard of it before and might have some clue on where it is now." I looked at her with such anger. I just wanted to kill her.
"I don't want to keep kill packs who have no clue about their family history but I will until I find the dagger and location of the Lycan heir. We both know that if I keep this up, I might end up going after your pack and your new little Luna. She seems determined to catch me and I would hate to have to really put her in her place," Jessica said. She had no idea Sapphire was a lycan and would tear her to pieces if she shifted but that was it, I didn't know if Sapphire would shift to protect herself. She hasn't at all so far. What if she hasn't mastered it and goes berserk once she shifts. Can she protect herself? I was getting worried and thinking I would try to play both sides for now.
"Okay so if I tell you all she knows about this dagger if she even knows anything. You need to leave her out of it and stop killing for now," I said.
"Deal," she said. She came close to me and kissed me on the cheek. "I've missed this. Don't all these bodies just make you horny." She ran off at supernatural speed and I went outside to shift and head back to the pack. I got the pack together and told them what I found out.
"We have to find out where this dagger is and who the Lycan heir is, no one must tell the Luna anything and once we have it we will use it to kill Jessica and that zombie she's f*****g," I told them. After our pack meeting, I called Sapphire and told her I wanted to talk. She agreed and said she was going to stop by tomorrow with Henry. "Great the bloodsuckers coming too," I thought.
The next day, I anxiously awaited Sapphire and her zombie friend. Suddenly she was standing in front of me in a beautiful red floral dress with buttons running all down the front. I wanted to rip it right off of her. I spent to much time looking at the buttons that lay on her chest. Unbuttoning one or maybe two would spill out my favorite part of my mate and have me ready to attack.
"Whenever you're done checking Sapphire out maybe we can talk about your psycho ex," the vamp said.
"Sit," I said to everyone. "We have no new information on her."
"So why did you call," the zombie said.
"I wanted to see my mate," I said.
"Christian, we have information. We know what she is looking for," Sapphire said.
"s**t," I thought but this doesn't change anything. Cole and Liam mind linked me and thought this was bad.
"It doesn't matter what she knows, we won't tell her anything about what I know," I said to my pack but the only one protesting was Karin. Being the only girl was hard for her and defying her Luna wasn't easy. She came from a pack that wasn't like ours. More normal.
"Well, what is she looking for," I said to Sapphire.
"A lycan and a dagger," she said.
"She knows about you," I said knowing it wasn't the case.
"No, I told you I wasn't the only lycan still alive but she is looking for a very powerful one and he will kill her before she has a chance to use the dagger," She said.
"So the dagger kills him?" I asked.
"Um, yeah," she said hesitantly. She looked over to Henry and then back at me. "We have to kill her before she reaches the heir."
"Heir," I said.
"Yes, the Lycan she is looking for is referred to as the lycan heir, said to rule over all the Lycans and be more powerful then Mikhail himself," she explained.
"Mikhail? The first lycan and the reason we all exist, right?" I asked.
"Yes, he chose the heir himself," she said.
"Do you know where the Lycan heir is?" I asked.
"No, why would I," she said.
"Well you're a lycan," I said.
"So she is supposed to know where the king of the Lycan's is," Henry said.
"Look, I was just wondering if we got to him first if we could kill him and then problem solved," I said.
"KILL HIM! What, how would that solve anything? The lycan heir might be dead for all we know but if not then why would we kill him if he isn't doing anyone any harm. Who we need to kill is that b***h who thinks she can rule my kind and everyone else for that matter," Sapphire said with a determined tone.
"Okay, I'm sorry I just thought we would beat her at her own game," I said.
"Her game will only bring more devastation and suffering for no reason," Sapphire said. "We just need to stop her."
"Well, we know what she wants and what she will be doing now to try to find it so we can move one step ahead now and stop her," I said.
"Kill her," Sapphire interjected.
"Yes, now will you stay for dinner," I said. She nodded but requested to have Henry stay.
After dinner, Sapphire and I went to my bedroom. She seemed nervous and timid. That was a first. I grabbed her hands and kissed her cheek and then neck.
"When will you let me mark you?" I asked her.
"When this is over, not before," she answered.
"That will make me even more determined," I said to her. I picked her up and placed her on the bed.
