Chapter 11By the time dinner was ready and they sat at the table eating, Norah’s vision and fear had left her. She talked to Ron and giggled like a normal five-year-old once again. It’d been weeks since Oliver had heard her laugh that way. He’d tried to keep most of the evil away from her, but no doubt she could read it in his tired expression. No matter how much he wanted to reassure her she was safe, he couldn’t hide his concern from her totally. The threats were draining him. As Norah talked through dinner, Oliver’s exhaustion began to take hold. Ron’s presence brought a security and lowered his guard. Where Norah found relief in Ron being there, it was allowing the heaviness to expose the toll it’d taken on him. Norah’s laughter danced through the house, carrying with it a lightness
