In a way, it seemed that Larry simply never went home again. When finally they left Jessica’s bed on Saturday afternoon, it was only to have lunch together in the garden. Jessica couldn’t stop looking at him and touching him. She felt as if he’d been lost at sea for years and then safely returned to her just when she’d given up hope. They did not talk much about the incredible discovery they’d made, about the miracle that their renewed relationship seemed to be. Instead, they simply continued the threads left dangling, along with the new ones started over the past few weeks.
