Chapter Twenty-Four Fortified by her conversation with Joey, Jessica woke on Sunday morning determined to talk to Larry. He’d already walked away from her, so she had nothing to lose but a little bit of pride. She was nervous about approaching him, but she kept reminding herself that the thing she’d done wrong was explainable, even correctable. If he didn’t want her to write the second book, she simply wouldn’t write it. She’d find something else that she could write or, even better, she’d simply terminate her contract and take the losses it brought. It wouldn’t kill her to get a job.
