Living Life God's Way!
As a pastor, I can't fathom how important it is to living out God's word not just half hearted but we need to be abundantly diligent.
let me start off by telling you a bit about myself. I grew up in a Christian home but then my father started working Sundays so my mom never really forced us to go to church so i would just play videogames on sunday mornings.
Then in 2000 something changed, i was your typical teenager, going to school, coming home and playing videogames instead of doing homework, listening to bad music, never got into drugs and alcohol thankfully.
Summertime came and I had my driver's license, I was involved in a rollover accident and it should have killed me. i would call myself a Christian but was not following Him by any means.
I was not seeking Him, but boy, was God seeking me. He woke me up spiritually and he let me know he was offended by the music i was listening to, so i stopped listening to that group that day.
I thanked God for saving my life but still did not start to actually follow him until 5 years later.
I found my first girlfriend, she was Catholic so I started attending church with her. Then she ended up cheating on me so I left her, left the church and ended up marrying her best friend.
My wife and I were attending a new church called Living Hope and it changed my life forever. I was baptized in 2007 when they rented out the Rose Garden Arena for an Easter Baptism, I remember it like it was yesterday.
There were 14,000 plus in attendance and over 700 baptisms just in that one service. after baptism I was hooked, i went to the main campus the very next day and started volunteering throughout the week, I ended up being involved in 18 different ministries.
If you are reading this wondering if God is real, I can tell you, He is. Do you want to know how good God is? He had a truck driver coming all the way from Mexico to Portland, Oregon and that truck broke down right in front of the Rose Garden on the day of the Baptism. The truck driver walked in and got baptized that day while waiting for the tow truck.
