I was called away from the office for a few days in early June to work with Lucas and Mariah Sheppard and Gordon Galbraith. They wanted to go over what I planned to launch to the press. The truth was that there was not much to launch. The dig seemed to have employed far more people than it needed, and there was nothing interesting to present, merely some dull artefacts from a Roman villa which had been excavated back in the seventies. I did not see the point in returning to the site, albeit with advanced tools and techniques, nearly fifty years later.
