CHAPTER FIFTEEN
RISPAN
Since I had announced that I was an official representative of Su Lariano, I needed to present myself to the King right away. I wasn’t anticipating a warm welcome, but if I delayed, he was sure to take offense. We immediately sent word to the Royal Court that I was in Pokorah-Vo and would like an audience at the earliest convenience.
The news that slavery had been officially outlawed had already hit the streets. Shegaruv and Julek had disappeared, as had a number of slaves, but they hadn’t exited the city as far as we knew.
