My Brother's Best Friend.

Melody’s POV  I really needed this vacation but as we know, NOTHING last forever. School was starting in the next 2 weeks and I’m going to L.A by my parents Ughh new school. God I miss them so much and I know they miss me too. By the way, I’m Melody I’m now 18 years old and I live with my Aunt in Florida. I am 5’2 (yeah I know short), dark skinned, big honey colored eyes and a killer body (so I was told). My parents also lived in Florida but my dad got this new job in L.A 2 years ago and he took it but I wasn’t ready to leave yet so I promised when I turn 18 I’ll come home and they agreed. I have a twin brother named Max and we’re not exactly on speaking terms at the moment because he was upset I decided to stay, I really hope he gets over it though. ------------------------------------------------------ “Bye Aunt Silvia” I say as I hug her squeezing tightly. She was truly good to me and she treated me like her own daughter. “Good bye honey” hugging me with the same force. *beep beep* “Cabs here” I say as I let go from her grip. “Safe trip Mel!” she yelled as I make my way to the cab. The ride home was long and boring. When I got to the airport I was looking all over for my parents and I saw Max with a guy the same height as him he was absolutely dreamy. As I made my way over I immediately jumped all over Max squeezing him ever so tightly. He was hesitant for a moment but after a while, he hugged me back. After we separated he turned to his friend “Mike this is my sister Melody” he says as Mike extends his hand “Melody this is my best friend Michael” he continues and I take his hand and got instant shock waves throughout my body I couldn’t help but gaze into his beautiful brown eyes I melted right into. “Ahem” Max clears his throat and cause us to break apart. “If you two would stop drooling over each other then would probably be home by now” he scowled. Feeling embarrassed I giggle a bit and kept my head down until I got home. Mike was being the tall dark handsome gentleman he was and helped me with my bags up to my room. “Stop it Mel he’s your brother’s best friend” I scowl myself softly. As I got into the house I was bombarded with screaming “SURPRISE!!” they shouted holding a birthday cake shaped in 18 but one side was blue and the other pink. I’m guessing the other side was for Max.   “Happy Belated Birthday Mel” my mother said as she squeezed the life out of me. “I’m so glad your home” she sobbed. Seeing my mom sob I instantly did the same. I missed my family so much! “Max didn’t want to celebrate his 18th without you here so Max and Mike has prepared a night out for you.” My mom said and I squealed in excitement. I ran up the stairs to find Max and give him a hug but I found Mike instead, scowling himself in the bedroom mirror “Max has done way too much for me to betray him with his own sister!” I gasp softly as my eyes widen from hearing all of this. Well I guess didn’t I gasp soft enough, before I knew it we were staring at each other in shock. “Umm where’s M-Max?” I blurted “Somewhere around I guess” he said calmly. With that I fled. ---------------------------------------------- Max’s POV. “MAX!! GET READY TO PICK YOUR SISTER UP SHE’LL BE HERE ANY MINIUTE!!” my mom yelled. “Fine” I replied loud enough for her to hear me. I was glad Melody finally decided to come home after being stupid for so long. I always hated being in Florida since I use to get bullied a lot. I decided coming to L.A would be good for me so I can change my entire appearance and start fresh. Melody on the other hand doesn’t like change she likes doing things her way. I was so upset when we got here without her I isolated myself for weeks. I didn’t want to talk to her either, whenever she called I would usually hang up the phone in her face or don’t answer at all. After going back to school the change in my appearance made everyone think I was this popular kid from my old school and I liked it. Then I became friends with Mike and we’ve been best friends ever since.   As I was going out the door Mike was just coming in so I told him to come with me to the airport. When we arrived the passengers on the plane were boarding off and I saw Melody bopping around to look for her pickups I’m guessing she was looking for mom and dad. She looked absolutely shocked to see me. She ran towards me giving me the biggest hug her little hands could. After separating I introduced her to Michael and they were staring at each other intently with sparkles in their eyes. I rolled my eyes and cleared my throat to gain their attention which I successfully did. I was eager to get home for the surprise we put together for her. Mike helped me set up this night for Mel and I. I didn’t want to have my first club experience without her. -------------------------------------------------   “SURPRISE!!!” We all greeted her and she squealed with excitement as she hugged our mother. Dad was always busy with work so he was hardly home. Before he’d come back like every other night but now he just calls home and come on weekends if he can. I always wanted to believe that he’s telling us the truth but it’s getting more and more difficult to believe. My mom and dad got matching wedding rings and their gold and sometimes he’d come with silver rings. I’ve seen my mom look at them but she acts like she doesn’t. So I don’t have the world of respect for him, whenever he’d tell me to do something, I’ll act like I don’t hear him or walk out on him. He was a coward and I hated him for that. I couldn’t tell melody either because she’d probably kill him. She gets really crazy (even if she doesn’t like that word) when she gets upset. Speaking of which I have to remind mom to get her some more meds…
