Chapter 31

Psych groaned at the sound of his phone ringing, and rolled over in his bed, opening his eyes. He looked at the clock, seeing it was only just after eleven. He had been up since four, closing up the bar, and he was tired. He yawned, grabbing hold of his phone and answering it. "Beta Psych of the Shadow Pack." He rubbed the sleep from his eyes, hearing Kai's voice. "I need you here today, so whatever your plans were today, cancel them, and get your ass here now." He opened his mouth to speak when he heard dead air, and looked at his phone. Kai had hung up on him, and he shook his head with a chuckle. He got out of bed, walked to his bathroom, and quickly hopped in the shower. He quickly dried off, and got dressed in jeans and a t-shirt. He put a few things in a book bag, before grabbing his phone and his keys. He made his way down the hall, opened up Raz's apartment, and tossed his bag by the door. He glanced at the couch, surprised not to see Delilah sleeping, and walked to his brother's bedroom door. He opened it up, stepping inside. "Raz, I need to..." He saw Delilah on top of his brother, thrusting, and gasping, screaming Raz's name. "Oh shi.t sorry!" Psych stepped out of the room, quickly shut the door, and walked toward the entrance of the apartment. He debated leaving a note or maybe sending his brother a text. He didn't like leaving the pack with his brother, not knowing where he was going. He walked to the kitchen, grabbing an apple and taking a bite. A few minutes later the bedroom door opened, and Raz walked out with a soft chuckle. "Sorry you have terrible timing, bro." He couldn't help but shake his head. "Well, I expected you to wait for your mate like me. It wouldn't be the first time I walked in on you with a girl." Raz looked back at his closed bedroom door. "She's my mate and just doesn't know it yet. So what was so important you came barging into my room at..." He saw Raz look at the time with a raised eyebrow. "Oh it's eleven." His brother looked back at him with a sheepish smile. "I've been busy." He shook his head with a soft chuckle. "Happy for you Raz. Kai called wants me at the Red River pack today. I was going to head out, and wanted you to know where I am." Raz looked at him with slight worry. "Call me when you arrive, and when you leave. I want regular updates, and if I don't hear from you, I am coming after you. Call if you need anything." He walked over to Raz, giving him a brief hug. "Of course, I'll check in often and hopefully be back in a few days. Hopefully you'll be thoroughly fucke.d by then." Raz smirked. "I doubt it." He watched him head back into the room, and he made his way out, grabbing his bag on his way out, shutting the door. He saw Brooke standing in the hallway, and he raised an eyebrow. "Go home Brooke, he's not interested in you. Also, give me your keys back. You aren't supposed to be here." He held his hand out, and she looked at him with a glare, and he used his Beta command on her. "Give me the keys, and go." She reluctantly placed the keys in his hand, and stormed down the hall. He sighed, shaking his head. "You are just too handsome, brother." He pocketed the keys as he made his way down the stairs, making sure to check both the front and side doors before making his way to the back door. Psych heard his name being called, and made his way back to the stairs staring up at Raz. "When will you be back?" He shrugged. "I don't know I'll call, and let you know if you actually answer." He could see the worry in his brother's face, and he smiled up at him. "Don't worry so much, brother, it will give you wrinkles. I'll keep my phone on me. You can track me with it, and the tracker is still in my car." Raz sighed, nodding his head. "Be safe." He pulled Brooke's set of keys out of his pocket, tossing them up at him, watching him catch them easily with a confused look on his face. "You have bigger things to worry about, brother. I found Brooke outside your door. I took her keys from her." He saw surprise cross Raz's face. "If she finds out you are sleeping with Delilah, who knows what she'll do." Raz nodded. "I'll consider moving to the packhouse. She can't get on the Alpha floor. Try not to get killed by Kai, and make sure you watch. He's a trained assassin." Psych shrugged. "I mean I must be the better choice if he's willing to train me, and knows I won't cheat on his daughter." He waved as he made his way to the back door, and walked out of the bar. He quickly locked up with his set of keys before walking to his Ferrari GTO in silver. He had wanted this car since he was a little boy, and his brother had bought one for him once he got his license. This car was his baby, and he adored it. He looked over it making sure there were no scratches, and climbed into the driver's seat. He started the car, and smirked as he put his sunglasses on. He carefully pulled out of the alley of the back of his car, as the GPS asked where he'd like to go today. "Red River Pack." He knew vaguely where he was going, and it was just about a two-hour drive, but for his car it was more like one. Sure enough, just over an hour later, he pulled into the long driveway toward the gates of the Red River Pack. He stopped at the gate looking at the guard as he took off his sunglasses. "Beta Psych of the Shadow Pack here to see Gamma Kai." He could see the guards looking over his car before telling him to pop his trunk. He did as they asked, and they finally opened the gates. "Nice car." He nodded as he made his way through the gates slowly, and he couldn't believe the beauty of this pack. Everything was so bright, and the grass so green. The flowers that were blooming along the path looked to be in bloom, and were clearly tended too often. He drove past the village, and from the houses to the packhouse. He pulled up front to see Alpha Rubeus standing a little boy, and Gamma Kai right beside him. He parked his car, stepping out of it, and made his way around, stopping in front of Rubeus, and offered him his hand. "A pleasure to see you again, Alpha Rubeus." Psych watched Rubeus look at his hand curiously, before taking it shaking it firmly. "Welcome to the Red River pack, be on your best behavior. This is my son Rj, and you know Gamma Kai." He smiled at Rj. "Hello future Alpha." He watched the little boy look at him. "My sister might be Alpha, make sure you behave." He watched the little boy storm back into the house, and he looked at Rubeus, who chuckled. "Don't mind him he's been upset since our second son was born. He thinks he will be replaced now. Gamma Kai, he's all yours." He watched Rubeus walk into the packhouse, and looked at Kai nervously. "Let's get you to the training yard." He nodded his head, despite being nervous.
