Delilah was lying in the hospital bed, and she couldn't believe that Lydia was right. She wasn't strapped to the bed, and never once tied up, or handcuffed. She was true to her word when Lock the Earth Faerie came into her room, and was looking her over. He was very professional.
"How long have you been in this realm?" She winced as he poked one of her ribs, and she was sure she bruised them while running. "I've been in this pack for about two years now. I went looking for my sister, and Queen Rei suggested I come to this pack. She said it needed a healer since their healer had left the pack."
She looked up at him. "So I have nothing to worry about?" She saw his eyes widen in surprise, and shook his head. "No, nothing to worry about at all. Anytime I've asked to return to the realm, I've been escorted to Queen Rei, and then fully escorted to the portal. I can come and go as I please, and Alpha Raz is truly amazing."
She sat on the bed as he gently took hold of her face. "Open your mouth please." She opened her mouth, letting him look her over, and frowned. "You are very malnourished, and you look severely underweight." She nodded.
"I was fed once or twice a day, and never had breakfast except once or twice. I wasn't allowed fruit for years, and I was abused, and.." She bit her lip as tears came to her eyes.
Lock looked at her with concern, she thought, and sighed. "I was assaulted a lot." She watched him pick up something, and start writing on it. "What's that?" He looked at her with a smile. "They call it a chart here. We have to log everything to best help patients. Alpha Raz is going to want to see you. I believe he is on his way here."
Delilah couldn't help but look panicked as he suddenly grabbed hold of her hand, squeezing it gently. "I know you have been through a lot, but I promise you our Alpha will not hurt you. He will help you."
She nodded, and watched him leave the room, and a short while later she was lying in bed with Alpha Raz sitting in a chair beside her. He had honeymilk brought to her, and she couldn't help but drink almost half the glass. She learned back against the plush pillows, and tapped her nails against the glass.
"I came here looking for someone, and I was sleeping in the woods. I didn't know what was happening. I was sleeping, and I was taken. I was sexually assaulted more times than I care to remember, and when I tried to escape I was punished. Once so bad I almost died, and I guess he marked me to save me? That is what he told me anyway."
She looked at Raz, and he was sitting in the chair with his arms crossed, listening intently. "Did you ever hear a name?" She shook her head. "No names, just titles, unless it was other people in the pack." He nodded. "How did you escape?"
Delilah looked at him, wondering if she should mention her father? How would he find her? And she did feel like she could trust him. "My brother and father came into the pack, and they released me."
His eyes suddenly widened. "Do you know their names?" She nodded. "Alpha Cory, and my brother's name is Mikah." She watched him pull out some rectangle thing, and he went through it until she heard some noises and a stern voice. "Fire Moon Pack, Beta Michael speaking."
She tilted her head, looking at the device, before looking at him. "Hello Beta Michael, this is Alpha Raz of the Shadow Pack formally Shadow Den. I was wondering I could speak to Alpha Cory please."
She heard a sigh come across the phone. "I am sorry, Alpha Raz, but Alpha Cory went on a trip with his son, and we haven't heard from him since. He was supposed to visit three different packs, but all of them said he hadn't arrived yet."
Delilah couldn't help but whimper softly, as she looked at Alpha Raz. "Please, you have to help them." He looked at her, before nodding. "What were the pack's names? Perhaps I could try visiting them, and seeing if I can find them."
Silence was heard on the phone, before she heard sighing again. "I can't say where they went at the present time, Alpha Raz. I was Alpha ordered to keep it secret because he went to find someone. He said if he didn't come home in a week's time to contact the King, and tell him the locations. Even if I wanted to tell you, I couldn't betray my Alpha."
Raz sighed gently, before nodding. "Of course, I will contact the King personally, and let him know you will be in touch." She watched Raz place a hand palm up on the bed, a comforting gesture she thought, and gently placed her hand in his.
"I wouldn't worry too much Alpha Raz. This isn't the first time Alpha Cory, and Mikah have been gone for over a week, especially with his mate being a different species. As soon as he returns home, I will tell him to call you."
She looked at the device. "I am Delilah, and I am Alpha Cory's daughter. If he should return home, please tell him where I am, and he can get me here."
She heard a slight gasp on the phone. "Of course, Miss Delilah, your mother has been asking about you. Should I send word you have been found and are safe?" She looked at Raz, and he tilted his head at her.
"Yes, please send word to her. Tell her I miss her dearly, and I hope to see her soon. Thank you." She looked down at the device. "Of course, Miss Delilah, I'll get in contact with Alpha Raz once I hear from either Alpha Cory or your mother." She heard a weird noise, and Raz pressed a button.
"What is that?" He looked at her curiously, and shrugged. "A cellphone you can use to call anyone that has one. I know from Lock, and a few faeries here you don't have these. You have to visit or travel to get a hold of someone."
Delilah shrugged gently. "If you were an Elder, you could write a note and send it with magic." She bit her lip. "Will it be fine if I stay here until my father is found?"
Raz nodded his head. "Lock said you had to stay here for the night, but tomorrow, when you are released, you can stay with me, or Lydia if you prefer."
She couldn't help but gently squeeze his hand as she laid back against the pillows. "Will you stay with me until I fall asleep? I really don't want to be alone. If it's not too much trouble."
He shook his head with a soft chuckle. "Not a problem, and I don't mind at all. How about we watch a movie?" She tilted her head at him. "What's that?" She watched his face turn into a grin. "Oh you are going to love this."
