Delilah couldn't help but smile as she looked around all the people sitting on the logs by the fire. She watched Belia walk over with two metal sticks, and hand each of them one, before handing Raz a bag of something. "Make sure you share with her Alpha."
Raz chuckled, shaking his head. "Of course, Belia." She watched him open the bag, pull out a big white thing, and push it on the rod. "It's called a marshmallow, and these are skewers to make it easier to cook them. You can eat them as is, or I prefer when they are burnt and gooey."
She couldn't help but take one of the big marshmallows, and pop it into her mouth. She was surprised at how soft it was, and it wasn't that bad. It was actually sorta delicious.
Raz put one of the marshmallows on his skewer, and put it in the fire. She watched as he pulled it out after several seconds to see it was completely inflamed. He blew out the fire, and pulled off the burnt part to show how gooey it was on the inside. He tossed the burnt part into his mouth with a grin.
She put hers in the fire, and was excited when she pulled it out to see it on fire. She blew it out, before tossing it into her mouth moaning as it melted in her mouth.
Delilah looked at him with her eyes wide open. "This is delicious! So much better when it's on fire." She couldn't help but reach into the bag, pulling out another one doing the same. "Alpha Raz?"
She looked toward the voice, seeing Brooke standing there holding a container of something. He briefly glanced at her, and shook his head. "I'm a little busy right now."
She watched as she reached a hand out to touch his shoulder, and several people gasped as Raz let out a growl, immediately moving away from the touch, and toward her. "Please just a minute."
Raz looked at her with a frown, and she smiled at him gently. "It's fine, it's your job." She was happy to keep eating the marshmallows. He got up, and walked a few feet from the fire.
She couldn't help but look over at him to see her trying to offer the container, and he pushed it back at her, shaking his head. She was surprised when Brooke suddenly slapped Raz across the face, before storming off toward the packhouse.
Delilah jumped when someone sat beside her, and it was a young male with short brown hair. "I havn't met you yet. Hello, my name is Alex. Welcome to the pack." She frowned when he suddenly took her skewer, and watched him lay out two brown-like crackers, and a bar of something.
He sandwiched the marshmallow between them, before pulling out the skewer. "Try it." She looked at it curiously, before taking it. "Thank you." She watched him get up, and walk away as Raz returned to his seat. She couldn't help but hand the sandwich out to him. "Is this poisoned?"
Raz suddenly chuckled, taking it from her, taking a small bite, before handing it back. "No, it's called a smore, and it's actually my favorite dessert."
She took the smores, and took a small bite, surprised it was actually excellent. She slowly ate it moving slightly closer to Raz. He looked at her with concern. "Are you okay? Do you want to leave?"
Delilah shook her head. "No, but what are those?" She pointed to the kids running around with the sparking sticks, and he turned his head. "Oh those are sparklers, you want to try one?"
Her face filled with excitement, and she got up with a nod. "Yes please." She followed him over to a station, taking one of the sticks and handing it to her. He led her further out into the yard before pulling out something to light it.
She couldn't help but wave it around in the area watching the lights, and the sparks giggling. She danced around with the sparkler, but when it finally burned out she let out a soft sigh.
Raz walked over, took the old one, and handed her a new one, lighting it up for her again. She smiled brightly at him as she went back to dancing around with it.
She couldn't help but spin, and when the sparkler burnt out, she walked over to Raz completely out of breath. "That was fun thank you." He chuckled softly. "Thirsty?"
She nodded eagerly as she followed him toward the man she had met earlier named Alex. He was handing out cups to everyone, and smiled widely at them. "Alpha, nice to see you this evening. Hot chocolate?"
Raz nodded. "Two please, one for me, and one for Delilah." He handed them each one, and she gently took Raz's free hand in hers. "Thank you." She walked with Raz, gently placing her free hand in his. "Let's head back to the truck the show will start soon."
She took a sip of the hot chocolate, and was surprised at how delicious it was. She was surprised when he squeezed her hand as they walked along the path. "This is truly amazing, Raz. I mean it everything has been so perfect."
He grinned at her, as she watched him open the back hatch of the truck, before pulling off the cover. She was surprised to see the entire back of the truck filled with pillows, and what looked like a mattress with a blanket on it, and another folded at the side.
"May I help you up?" She smiled at him, stepping up close with a nod, and he lifted her up onto the back. She removed her boots, before crawling onto the mattress. She watched him do the same before grabbing the blanket and draping it over their legs.
She took another sip of the hot chocolate, and looked up at the stars and half moon. "Will you teach me to fight?"
Raz looked at her with a soft nod. "I can start taking you to the morning or afternoon training if you like. It's mostly self-defense in human form."
She moved to sit right beside Raz, resting her head against his shoulder. "I just want to be able to defend myself in case Alpha tries to come back for me. We didn't learn much fighting, and more to use your elements to protect you."
Delilah sipped her hot chocolate, and looked out over the lake, seeing a boat in the middle of it. "Of course, I'll happily help to train you, Delilah. I'll even train you personally, or with Lydia."
She couldn't help but point out to the boat. "Thank you Raz, but what is that for?" He looked out on the water before chuckling. "It's for the surprise. Well, for us, it isn't. We do this every year on this day, but I am sure you are going to love it."
She suddenly saw a light shoot up to the sky in the color of blue, before it made a large bang. It spread out into a giant circle made of tiny little balls of light and fire. She couldn't help but gasp.
