Chapter 27

Delilah quickly moved to be on her knees as she watched the sky fill with fire. There were ones that were a bright red and orange, looking almost like a shooting star. The next round was with it falling down almost like the circle of lights was bleeding down. They were almost yellow. She was surprised by the different sounds each kind made, and was practically bouncing on her knees with excitement waiting for the next one to pop. This was by far the most beautiful thing she had ever seen. She felt Raz place a blanket over her feet, but she couldn't take her eyes off the display. "Thank you." He chuckled softly, and when the next couple started to pop. "They are called the Dahlia fireworks mix. They are like the flowers we have here." She was surprised by the name. It sounded so much like hers, just a bit different. She felt the wind hit her, and she realized she was cold without taking her eyes off the sky. She moved beside Raz, and finally sat back down. He brought the blanket around her as she leaned against his shoulder. "How often do you do this?" Delilah looked at him briefly, and noticed he was staring at her with a soft smile, and he shrugged as she looked back at the sky. "We do this display every year, but we have fireworks throughout the year for different holidays. This is to celebrate a new year, and new beginnings." She watched another one pop, and it was the one that looked like it was bleeding in a different color. "What's that one it's my favorite." He looked at the sky. "Willow, it's a kind of tree we have here. I actually have a few on the property near the water. I can show you. During the winter they look like crystals hanging down, but in summer it's like a hideaway." He circled his arm around her, as she rested her head on his chest, and the chill she felt went away. He tried to explain the fireworks the best he could when she asked him what one was. It was truly beautiful, and when suddenly there were several firing all at once, making a big show. She was truly disappointed when they stopped firing, and looked at Raz curiously. "At the end of the show they fired a bunch at once." She looked back at the sky. "Will they do more?" He shook his head. "No, they won't do it anymore tonight, because it would wake the children. Most will stay up till midnight to celebrate the new year, but we set the fireworks off early for the kids who truly enjoy the show." Delilah settled in Raz arms with a smile. "Thank you for bringing me, I really loved it. When will you do that again?" She looked up at him. "Not for a while, but sometimes we do a show for Valentine's Day. If you are still here, I'll make sure they do it for the holiday." Her eyes widened, and she eagerly nodded her head. "Yes please." She looked at him, and he was smiling down at her. "Why do you like me so much? I'm not even a real faerie anymore. I don't have any wings, and I am not worth your time." Raz chuckled softly. "Shouldn't I be the one to judge that? I don't care that you don't have wings. Delilah, I enjoy the time I spend with you. From the moment I saw you, I wanted to get to know you. You make me feel whole in a way I've never felt before. I feel like I can talk to you about everything, and I want to tell you everything." Delilah couldn't help but sigh. "You heard what happened to me. I have been abused for years, and I know, based on Alpha, you are going to want an heir. Probably a son, and I can't give you that. He took everything from me, including giving you a family." Raz raised an eyebrow at her as he reached a hand to stroke her cheek, and wiped away a tear she didn't realize had fallen down her cheek. "It doesn't bother me, Delilah, I honestly didn't think I'd ever have a child. I didn't think I'd ever find the perfect one for me, and then you showed up in my pack needing help." She bit her lip. "I wasn't pure before him, Raz. I loved se.x, and I had it often. I've had dozens of lovers in the realm, and until Alpha marked me I was passed around his pack. I was surprised that he wouldn't give me to others, until he kept bringing women into his bed expecting me to be in pain. I figured that out quick, and just laid on the floor pretending." She leaned into Raz's hand. "Because he would feel the pain if you were with another. Sounds like he just really wanted you to suffer, and be a breeder. I am not like that, Delilah, and I want you for you. I am not pure either. I've had urges, and have slept with quite a few girls. None were in the pack though, mostly when I went to college when I was younger." Delilah nodded, and sighed gently as she placed her hand on her heart. "I'll never get my soulmate now. He broke the bond when he marked me. Faeries don't get another soulmate. Once the bond is broken, it's gone. Even if I get this mark off my neck, I'll never find them." Raz pulled her right into his lap, and she wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him tightly. "I am so sorry that happened to you, Delilah. If you want me, you can have me, and I'll never leave you. I'll be with you for as long as you want me. I won't keep you from your home. Whenever you want to go home, just say the word. You can come and go as you please. Of course, you'll have a full escort." She buried her face in Raz neck, breathing in his delicious scent. Seriously, whatever it was, he smelled like she really wanted it. He always seemed to be able to take away her sadness, and make her feel better. "I can really go home whenever I want, and be able to come back?" She heard his soft chuckle. "Of course, I would, of course, like to escort you to, and from, the realm. Just to make sure no one can take you. I don't want you to ever get hurt again." Delilah pulled back, looking at him, and couldn't help brushing her lips against his. She loved the feel of his soft lips against hers, and when he responded to her kiss. She couldn't help but melt against him, as her toes curled slightly. He was a excellent kisser, and she loved the taste of his lips.
