Delilah shut the book, setting it down on the couch as she got up walking to the desk. She looked at the device curiously, as Raz chuckled at her softly. "It's a phone, just put it to your ear, and you'll be able to talk and hear the person on the other side."
She took the phone, tilting it to look at it before putting it to her ear. "Hello?" She couldn't help the soft squeak in her nervious voice, and then instantly smiled at hearing her mother's voice.
"Del's oh the elders I have been worried sick about you. Why didn't you ever come home honey? Did you find your mate?" She couldn't help the soft sob that left her.
"Mom, I got taken by an Alpha. He kept me hostage, and forced me to be his mate. Where are you? I want to see you. I miss you, and Tah." She watched Raz stand up, and waved at him to sit back down. "Please don't go."
She watched him sit back down, and she sat in the chair across from his desk. "I am currently in Rei's office. She just had a little boy, so she is spending time with him, and Ruby brought me here so she could meet her little brother. She gave me the number to reach you. I miss you so much sweetheart."
She smiled so happy to hear her mother's voice. "Tah is doing well she found her soulmate. I am not allowed to tell you anything about them. She wants you to meet her. She took over being the Elder Faerie of Fire. She misses you too honey. Have your father and brother arrived there yet?"
Delilah shook her head, and Raz chuckled. "She can't see you." She blinked at him. "Oh, no Mom, he hasn't come here yet, and why didn't you tell me about him or Mikah?"
Her mother let out a soft sigh. "Honey, if you knew you might have told the other elders, and we would have been thrown out of the Realm. I couldn't risk that, and your father agreed. You wouldn't have been safe in this place, and considering what you have been through, I guess you would understand now. I didn't want you to grow up worrying if someone was going to take you. I wanted you to grow up with your own kind."
She watched Raz writing something down, but she could tell by the frown on his face he could hear. He looked up at her, and slid his arm across the desk, holding his out to her. She eagerly placed her hand into his, appreciating the comfort. "You should still have told me, Mom. I would have at least liked to spend time with him, and actually get to know him."
Danaya was silent on the phone, before speaking softly. "I'm sorry, and you are right. Once we find him, and your brother, how about we all go to his pack and get to know each other as a family?" She heard the soft sob come from her mother, and frown. "If we find them, that is."
Raz squeezed her hand. "I promise I will help you find your father and brother. If I find the Alpha who took you I'll rip his head off, and give it to you. I know it can't take away all the pain and suffering he caused you, but I can at least get rid of him so you never have to worry again."
She squeezed Raz hand, smiling despite the tears rolling down her cheeks. "Thank you Raz." She heard her mother's soft voice. "Please thank him for keeping my baby safe, and for helping you when I could not."
Raz shook his head. "You don't need to thank me. I would have done it regardless, and I promise to keep Delilah safe until she is in your arms again."
She couldn't help but bite her lip. "Will I see you soon Mom?" She heard her mother talking to someone, before she heard her talking to her again. "You will see me soon darling. I am just waiting for Queen Ruby for an escort, but we are trying to get hold of your father's pack. If he does show up please call here."
She nodded. "Of course I will, Mom. I love you so much." She didn't want the phone call to end, and frowned when her mother told her she loved her too, and that she would call her again soon.
Delilah held the phone in her hand for several minutes before handing it to Raz, and he hung it up. "Thank you." He smiled at her, nodding. "Of course, you can call her anytime." She watched him reach into his desk pulling out a device handing it to her. "This is a cell phone, and I'll have Beta Jayce give one to your mother so you can call her anytime. I'll teach you to use it."
She got up from her chair and walked around the desk, throwing her arms around him in a tight hug. He stood up, pulling her close, and gently rubbed her back. She couldn't help but bury her face into his chest, inhaling his scent, feeling herself calm down.
She didn't know how long she had been staying like that, and only pulled away when she heard a knock on his office door, as the door suddenly opened, and Lydia walked in with a tray. "Can you believe how cold it is outside today? I mean, even with my beast, I'm a little chilly."
Lydia looked at her, and smiled instantly. "Delilah, lovely seeing you again. Belia had me bring you some lunch. It's some sort of faerie wrap? It looks good." She looked between the two of them. "Am I interrupting?"
Raz chuckled, shaking his head as he walked over to Lydia, taking the tray. "Thank you, Lydia, I was just about to ask Delilah if she wanted to have lunch, so that is perfect. Did Psych tell you he was leaving this afternoon?"
Lydia waved a hand. "Yes, he seemed very excited about going to training with Kai. He left after we finished preparing the back of your truck for tonight. I had extra blankets put in the back because it's supposed to get very cold."
She walked back to the chair across Raz's desk, and he put the plate with her wrap in front of her. "Thank you, Lydia." She waved her hand as she headed out of the room. "No problem boss, enjoy your lunch."
Delilah eagerly took a bit of her wrap, moaning as the taste of her favorite fruit dressing hit her taste buds. She offered her wrap to Raz as he sat back in his chair, and he shook his head, picking up his own. "I got mine thanks though."
She couldn't help but smile at him. "So what are we doing tonight?" He waved a finger at her. "Nope, I will not tell it's a surprise. You are just going to have to wait, but I hope you will like it. We do this every year for New Years."
She couldn't help but wonder what he could possibly be taking her to see.
