Emily's POV I ran my fingers over the spines of the dusty books, my thoughts far from the shelves I was supposed to be cleaning. The library was eerily quiet, the faint sound of a ticking clock the only indication that time was passing. I wasn't here by choice—omegas had been assigned to clean and prepare for the Winter Solstice vigil. It is usually the longest night of the year, wolves fast and light bonfires to honour past Alphas, Lunas, and Warriors who contributed greatly to the pack and have passed on. It is always a spiritual and solemn night before the real partying begins. For once, I didn't mind the chore.
