The heavy silence in the library was shattered by the sudden sound of footsteps echoing down the hall. I froze, the weight of Martha's story still lingering in the air like a chilling fog. Martha stiffened too, her wise eyes narrowing as she set her mug down carefully. The footsteps grew louder, accompanied by sharp voices.
And then they appeared.
Luna Celeste strode into the library, her icy gaze sweeping across the room like a cold blade. Behind her came Logan Pierce, the Gamma of the pack, followed closely by a group of pack warriors. They spread out like a wall of menace behind her, their expressions hard and unreadable.
