MY ALPHA MATE IS A MONSTER

I woke up to the sound of the bell. It was the sign that the day had begun and most people woke up at the sound of it. Although some people woke up before it, the Alpha insisted that we continue using the bell so that people like me would be able to wake up on time and start their daily activities. I tried to move but it was too painful so I stopped. Thoughts from the night before returned to me. Carl, my cousin and the son of the Alpha was the one responsible for my pain. Carl was a few years older than I was and he had awakened his powers already. As a result of this, he was able to win many battles and a lot of people admired him for who he was. Carl’s confident stride, elegant smile, and Masculine voice all made the girls in our pack pray to be his mate. However, it was all a lie as he was a terrible soul who loved to use his powers to torture anyone who was too weak to him or who he did not consider relevant. A few weak warriors had been victims of his animalistic behaviors. One time, he returned from a battle, and a fellow warrior who had gone with him returned badly Injured and claimed that his injuries were punishments from Carl for being ‘too weak’. All these were terrible and although they were terrible, they were nothing compared to what I went through daily. I was only nine when my parents died in a clash with a rival clan. My father was the brother of the Alpha so they were strong warriors but unfortunately, they were outmatched by their opponents. Ever since my parents died, I was forced to live with the Alpha as I had no one else to turn to. The Alpha gave me a quaint room and had the maid feed me but that was it. The Alpha had no sympathy for me as he was angry that my parents had lost their lives in the manner they did and so he felt hatred for them in his heart. I could tell by the way he looked at me. I had a normal life and nothing went wrong until my sixteenth birthday when I was supposed to awaken my powers and I didn't. It was hell as I became aware that I was not going to be able to continue living the terrible life I was living. “Bella, you haven't awakened your powers and from the words of the priest, it seems you’re not going to be able to awaken your powers anytime soon. That's bad news for you, Omega,” Carl snarled, his eyes gleaming with mischief. Those words hit me hard as I knew what that meant. Although I knew he was saying that I was going to be in a lot of trouble, I didn't know just how much trouble It was going to be. From that moment onwards, Carl viewed me as a plaything. The stare he gave me made me sick to my throat as it felt like he was staring at a dog with a broken leg. As the years passed, he began to get violent with me. He would drink and then come to the mansion and come straight for my room. I would try to lock my door as much as I could but the more I resisted, the more he got a taste for it as he would break the door down and take me to the other side of the room to satisfy his ego. Afterward, he would begin to hit me. It didn't matter that I was a weakling who had yet to awaken her powers. Carla would get pleasure by hitting me. My screams would echo throughout the house but no one would come to my aid. Not the maids, not his mother, or even his bodyguards. I understood that they were all weaker than he was but if they tried, I was sure he would stop. However, they didn't as they either felt I deserved it or that I was not worth the effort so I had no choice but to face the brunt of his inhumanity. “Weak Omega,” he would yell when he slammed his fists into my belly. At times, I would apologize for being weak. I would be so sorry for something that was beyond me and yet he would never stop till he had satisfied his desires. At times, I would be so badly bruised that I would lose consciousness and wake up to see that he stopped even when I had fainted. Today was one of those days and it seemed that I had broken a lot of bones the last time he came to torture me. Slowly, my eyes became clear and I was able to see properly. I checked my arms and legs and saw only a few of my bruises had healed. Judging by the last time he tortured me, I was sure that I had slept for more than a day to be able to recover from it and gain consciousness. I looked around, the entire room was a mess and there were blood stains everywhere. Ironically, Carl didn't like the sight of blood as he would punish me whenever I failed to wipe off any blood stains in the room when he came. I gathered enough strength and decided to try and adjust myself and my books first before taking care of the numerous bloodstains all over the place. However, this was a mistake as I was forced to make a sound and the people in the home heard my movements. I heard someone approaching and I could tell the person was headed straight for my door and the aura around the person gave off the fact that the person had evil intentions. It was the only power I possessed, I could tell when a person was about to do something evil. However, no one considered it a skill as every member of the Alpha family possessed it. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. I was unaware who it was so I failed to respond as I was too scared to utter a word. However, the door opened and I saw him standing there with a menacing smile on his face. What did he want? I wondered in fear.
