Chapter Three

Elizabeth's POV I tried to compose myself as I stepped out of the hotel. I needed to act normal. Nothing happened, right? I tried to force myself to believe a lie knowing fully well I had slept with a man I did not know and cannot remember his face. In between my legs hurt so bad but in a good way and it made me feel disgusted with myself. I glanced at the building one more time before walking away from the building. Ring! Ring! My phone rang and I immediately picked it up after reading the caller ID. Forcing a chirpy and natural voice I spoke. “Hello” “Thank goodness, Beth. Where are you? I've been looking all over for you” Bridget's worried voice came through the speakers “I’m fine. I just fell asleep once I got home” I lied It was better to lie than tell her I slept with a complete stranger. At least for now until I felt better about myself. Surely, Justin was not going to hear of this or I would lose him. The thought broke my heart. Bridget sighed. “Thank goodness. I'm traveling today and it's late or I would have come to see you. Don't miss me too much. Bye” she said “Bye” I responded and the call ended Bridget would be out of the city for a few days so I would use that time to gather myself on how to tell her how I had a one-night stand with a stranger. I hailed a can, got in and while it drove away I told myself to forget about the incident that occurred in that hotel. It was a mistake and it will remain a mistake. A few minutes later, I got a text from Bridget. “Oh, your sister is back. Bumped into her in the airport” I didn't reply and only sighed, shutting my phone and my eyes. ****************************************************************************************************** Sebastian's POV I sat at the seat of the car staring at the club where the party was held one week ago. This was not where I was meant to be but I was here, contemplating whether to go to the meeting I was to attend or go into the club and try to get some information about the girl I had slept with. My gaze dropped to the keychain in hand. It was a small object but it held one clue on who I had slept with a week ago. I had tried to push it aside and think about other things but she kept popping into my head. I wanted to let go but I just could not and here I was, even though I tried to fight, I still ended up here with no idea how to go back to my meeting without first finding out who this lady was. Reluctantly, I opened the door of the car and stepped out, placing the keychain in my suit jacket. “Good say, Mr. Sabestian” the bartender greeted “I want to see the manager,” I said without mixing words “Here I am, Mr Sabestian. Come this way” the manager said behind me then led me to his office “Would you need anything to drink?” He asked as he gestured for me to take a seat “No” I replied taking a seat “I need to know the people that attended the party last week” “What party?” The manager feigned ignorance “You know what party. This club hasn't hosted any other since then so don't play with me. I know you are to protect their identity but I am ready to pay to get that information” I told him He contemplated but I was in no mood to wait for him. “You have only 30 seconds to decide,” I said “10 million,” he said “Deal” I replied immediately In no time, I had the book in front of me. Only a few minutes in and I got what I was looking for. The lady's picture was there with the keychain around her wristwatch. Unfortunately, it was only her face and family I knew not her exact name but at least I had a lead. I signed a check for 10 million before leaving the club in my car. I might not have full details yet but I needed to inform my father that I had found a lady I would get married to. He was already looking for one for me but I didn't want him to, with this he would stop. Speaking of the devil, my phone rang and it was him. “Come home, now!” He commanded from the other end of the phone before ending the call In ten minutes, I was home. My father was seated on his usual chair, eyes blazing with anger. “You missed the meeting” he began as I approached “Yes, I-” “You have a reasonable excuse?” He asked “Yes, I needed to handle something important” “And what could be more important than a business meeting with foreign clients discussing a project worth billions?” “I was looking for my bride” He scoffed. “What bride?” “You said if I got married that I-” “I know that but that time is past. I've chosen a bride for you” “No, I can't agree to this. You told me I had a month to-” “And a month is over” my father interrupted me again “Even now, I see no one” “If you give me time-” “That time I don't have” “I will not accept this marriage,” I said firmly “You have no choice” “I have a choice!” I barked out in frustration I didn't want him to choose a wife for me. I wanted to pick for myself and now he was taking that from me. He stood up in anger. “You will not raise your voice at me, young man. I still remain the Mafia boss. Don't forget I can strip you of your rights as my successor. I gave you your chance and you lost it. You will get married to the daughter of the Jones family and that is final” He said and plopped back on his chair, sipping his wine. “The Jones family?” I asked “Yes, the marriage proposal has been sent” he responded So I was not losing then. I was still getting married to the lady I wanted to marry. My Beth is from the Jones family.
