Chapter Four

Bethany's POV

It has only been a day since I got back and I was missing my time abroad but then I knew my life was here in Los Angeles. I have done a lot to be in Los Angeles and I was going to remain here. With that in mind, I had an appointment today so I hopped into the shower, dressed up and found out my perfume was finished.

I shrugged leaving my room to Eliza's bedroom. Fortunately, she was at her bedroom door staring down at the corridor with her arms folded and her body leaned on the side of the door frame. I looked over at where she was staring at and found out father was looking pale and almost talking to himself.

“Do you know what's wrong with Dad?” Eliza asked and I shrugged, moving my gaze from him to her

“Something has always been wrong with him since his wife died” I responded, walking past her into her room

“It’s Mum, Bethany” she corrected me again

I picked up her body spray, uncocking it. “Mum, his wife, the same person we're talking about,” I told her, picking up another body spray

She shook her head and took a seat on her bed. “Do you plan to empty the bottle? Why are you using mine anyway? What happened to yours?” She asked

“Finished” I responded, placing the capped bottle back on the dressing table

I was about to leave the room but I stopped in my tracks and looked at her. “Have you taken your drugs?” I asked, squinting my eyes

“I for-”

Before she could complete her statement, I walked up to her bedside table, pulled out the drawer, took out her dose of medicine then handed it to her with a glass of water. She took it immediately while looking at me strangely.

“How do you always know I haven't taken my drugs?” She took a sip of her water after asking

“We share the same face, Eliza. Don't you think we might share the same mind” I teased and got a look from her

I laughed then walked to the door. “Your eyes turn red when you haven't” I spilt the beans before leaving her room, a smug smile on my face

I got into the car and I arrived at the bar in five minutes. I took out my phone, dialled a number and in two rings the person picked up. “I'm here” I informed the person

He told me where to meet him before ending the call. I got to the roof of the building and I met him. “Did it go as planned?” I asked

He shook his head and I frowned. “What do you mean?” I asked

“She took the spiked drink but before we could take her, some guy took her out of the club before we could bring her with us” he explained

“You were the only bartender in that party and you could not handle one simple job?”

“I’m sorry. I just-”

“Spare me” I raised my head, silencing him

With a sigh, I turned around to leave but the stupid bartender had to speak. “Why do you want to do that to your twin sister anyway? You two share the same face, don't you think it will affect you too?”

I looked over my shoulder. “Don’t ask stupid questions and instead use that time to do a good job” I scolded him and walked away

To clear my head, I went on a shopping spree. One good thing about having money is the ability to spend it. Eventually, I went to the supermarket to get some things and on my way out I bumped into a man. “You I-”

“Beth?” The man calling out my name silenced me

He looked as though he recognized me from somewhere but I did not know him. “You don't remember?” He asked, seeing my shocked expression

I was about to change my look when he took out something from his pocket and handed it to me. On one look, I knew who he was talking about. “I can't speak now but meet me at Lux Diner by 8 pm” he quickly walked away before I could say anything

Actually, I was not going to say anything. After watching him leave, I looked down at the keychain in my hand. It was Eliza's. Which means he wants to speak with her. For now, I would act like I knew him and would keep up this facade. If it was of good then it was mine but if not, then I'll give it back to Eliza.

By 10 pm, I arrived back home to a gloomy mood in the house. I had just come back from a meeting with Sebastian and he proposed a marriage contract to me but I was skeptical. He was a handsome man no doubt and had a lot of money but he gave me time to think so I would take it.

“What’s happening?” I asked, glancing from Mr. William to Eliza who both had a frown on their faces

“A marriage proposal came in some days ago from the Finn family and Eliza has refused to take it,” Mr William said

“I won't be married off to anyone. Moreover, I have a boyfriend. Justin and I plan to get married to him” Eliza said firmly

“Why are you so scared, Dad? You can always reject it” I plopped on the couch

“We can't. They would ruin us. This company is already experiencing a downtime. We can't be pushed to the floor or we will go bankrupt in seconds” Mr William explained

“Who is he?” I asked

“Sabestian Finn” He responded

I shrugged. “I’ll marry him”

The shock was evident on both of their faces. “Don’t look at me like that. I don't care. Moreover, it'll save the family” I stated and they both nodded and even smiled as I left for my room

There, I called him. “Sabestian, I accept the marriage contract of three years” I informed him
