Even ify heart pounded lightly within my ears. I tried to keep a nonchalant expression but the whole time I was left wondering if Kane knew that I was hiding something. I tried to control my breathing but at the back of my head, I had a strong feeling that I was going to give myself away.
“I don't know what on earth it is that you're talking about” I said quietly and returned my gaze back to the window, signalling that I was the end of conversation. I tried to focus my gaze on the passing trees. Somehow I knew that his attention hadn't been completely taken away from me. He decided to remain silence. I knew that he wasn't going to drop it but I'm glad that he had stopped talking now.
