Word will reach you soon that a small company of your soldiers has been slaughtered. Disguised as bandits they have been preying on travellers along the Great West Road, robbing them and leaving only the men alive to serve in your army.
I do you the credit of believing that you know nothing about this. As I have no vested interest in drawing the king’s attention to your soldiers’ shortcomings, I will deliver their leaders, Andoran and Sargon, to you, rather than to Kosar, so that you may question them and mete out your own justice.
I think you will find that there are one, possibly two more companies of these soldiers who are in league, preying on innocent travellers. I also think it is highly likely that your friend Lord Davorad may have knowledge of this.
