        I never realized how exhausting it could be to use only one of your senses to assess your surroundings. Even as a human, I was so reliant on my eyes and nose, and ears. But now I was too far to smell anything, and it was too dangerous to show myself, so I couldn’t see anything. This left me with my hearing, which was struggling to differentiate between all the normal sounds of the house and all the different types of steps, conversations, and movements outside.         I sighed, leaning my back on the wall below the open window. I reached out and adjusted the makeshift blindfold I had covered my eyes with to stop myself from using them needlessly.
