        “We’re back alive!” I laughed as we entered the house, my smile turning sour when nobody replied. I tensed to see if anyone was home and I could detect noises coming from the kitchen and Ian’s bedroom. I shook my head, refocusing my attention on the figure that appeared from the kitchen carrying a cup of coffee in one hand and one of Clarissa’s delicious muffins in the other.         “You’re back,” Oscar said, stopping next to us. He gave Ethan a hesitant look before turning back to me. “I was told to tell you that the others went out to walk the perimeter and change the trap locations after your brother called to say your father and his… pack know about them. They left right after your call, so they should be back shortly.”         “I’ll be in my room,” Ethan said after nodding.
