Elijah As if spellbound by the film, I stare at the television screen and try to concentrate on the plot. However, I keep watching Tessa from the corner of her eye as she takes popcorn out of her bowl and throws the popped up grains into her mouth one by one. I can barely stop thinking about how she almost jumped up in a hurry after I apologized to her for a, admittedly really stupid, statement. It seemed as if she was so upset by my reaction that she had no idea how to react. "I'll get a new bottle of Coke," my father reports after some time and rises from the place on his sofa. Or rather said of the whole half of the sofa, which he claimed for himself as always. I've thought before about whether he does this intentionally or just unconsciously takes up so much space, but I didn't get
