Final Author’s Note
Julian was released from Barton Prison on November 24th, 1976. His parents collected him from the prison. For the remainder of 1976, he resided solely at his parent’s house. He moved in with Gordon Thompson at the beginning of 1977.
At the end of Julian’s probationary period, which expired several months after Thompson’s, he and Thompson moved interstate. He told his parents he and Thompson wanted to leave their past behind and start afresh. They bought a house on the outskirts of Melbourne and lived there until Julian was killed by a drunk driver two weeks after his thirty-fifth birthday.
