When I got home, the crew (Talon, Nessira, and Zaro) were at work, so I ensured the shower was hot and stayed for an hour. It will probably raise the water bill, but I’m so pleased, and I deserve to be in the shower longer.
I remember at the cake tasting when Grayson was yet to come, Kiki was telling us how hard it was to have her daughter, and she'd probably never have any more children. I know if I couldn’t bear children, I would be in miserable pain, at least for me.
I don’t know how to face her; knowing her husband’s child is in me growing healthy. My phone brought me back to reality.
I lay in bed and answered the phone. “Yo! Where the f**k are you?!” He yells.
“Oh my god, Oliver, I forgot, I was coming.”
Oliver is my brother, the eldest. With two girls and a boy, you would think he would act like a grown man, but he’s the opposite. He wants to behave like he’s 21 again. In reality, Oliver’s 27, and my other brother, Benjamin, is 26 with two children, a girl and a boy.
I guess Talon, Nessira, and Zaro weren’t at work after all. We planned to go to the playground many months ago to play volleyball, but am I supposed to wear such tight clothes when my bump technically shows? I’m just going to pray my mom doesn’t show up. I squeeze into my volleyball clothes and head out. I got to the playground, which is about five minutes if I walked, and made my way over to the volleyball court.
“There you are!” Benjamin hugs me, but he immediately pulls away. “Whoa, I think I missed five chapters?”
I smile sheepishly as Oliver makes his way over and pokes at my belly. As soon as he does that, his eyes bulge. “s**t, does mom know?” He whispers.
Benjamin rolls his eyes. “No, dumbass, mom will kill her if she finds out.”
Talon, Nessira, Zaro, and an unknown girl walks in on us.
“Damn, never thought you’d be pregnant.” Oliver says, still shock-ridden.
“You’re going to play volleyball with us?!” The unknown girl asks, surprised.
I nod. “A little pregnancy can’t keep me away,” I smirk. “Winston Joon,”
I shake her hand. “Nessie Taylor.”
I pause, and so do Talon, Zaro, and Nessira.
“I’m sorry, are you one of Benjamin or Oliver’s friends?” Talon asks.
“She’s with me, she and Mia are friends, and she’s stepping in for Mia.” Oliver smiles. Mia is Oliver’s wife, and Nessie, who I noticed actually looks like the girl version of Grayson with icy blue eyes, could be Grayson’s sister.
“Sorry for being an intruder.” Nessie smiles, but we all wave it off. Telling her it’s no big deal. We play three rounds before me and Nessie both sat the next round out. I keep looking at her and looking for things that look like Grayson, and she catches me.
“Is everything ok?”
I straighten up. “Yea, sorry, you look like someone I know.”
She laughs a bit. “Grayson? Yea, I know, he’s my brother. Do you know him?”
I nod. “We talk... Here and there.”
Nessie looks closer into my eyes. “Of course, your eyes.” Nessie scoffs.
“What?” I furrow my brows.
“My brother finds beauty in anything, really.”
I furrow my brows. “Ok?”
“He’s sleeping with you, isn’t he?”
I glare at her. The audacity, this girl, talking about how he finds beauty anything like I’m trash! And what kind of protrusive question?
“I don’t think that’s any of your business.”
She sighs. “Don’t try to be smart. You aren’t the first, obviously.”
I was about to beat a b***h up, but the crew finished their tenth round and came to sit down.
“You guys becoming friends already?” Nessira says enviously. It took me a long time to trust Nessira, but I don’t know why it was just her booming personality, which goes to say don’t judge a book by its cover.
Nessie smiles fakely. “Of course, I was just asking about her baby.”
I involuntarily put my hand on my stomach, and I decided to play along and not cause a scene. “Yea, we were just talking about the baby,”
“Well, I didn’t bring non-alcoholic drinks because you decided not to tell me you're pregnant.” Benjamin says, a little hurt.
“We, at least, brought water because we knew.” Nessira sticks her tongue out playfully.
Nessira rubs my belly before standing up. “I’m tired as hell, anyone else planning on going home?”
Benjamin and Oliver smirk. “We’ll race you to the car!”
“Count Zaro and me in.” Talon gets up, pulling Zaro with her.
Zaro furrows his brows, almost choking on his beer. “What-?!”
“ONE TWO THREE!” They all run as fast as they can.
Nessie smiles and gets up to leave. “I hope this baby of yours isn’t Grayson’s, and why would you play volleyball when you’re pregnant? Maybe you need pregnancy classes.”
I couldn’t believe what my ears were relaying to me. Nessie and Grayson are total opposites, but then alike simultaneously! I pray that whatever gene affected Nessie and Grayson doesn’t affect my beautiful child.
Now I have to be a whole spy and watch over my child because it seems life won’t be as welcoming. I hug my brother and tell them to tell their wives I said hi before they drove off. Talon, Nessira, and Zaro were also right ahead of me as I came by myself.
I drive home trying not to overthink, I’m so sleepy and tired, and I have to tell my mother that I’m pregnant…I’ll have to prepare funeral invites. As I slept, I dreamt of that night, that night with Grayson.
I bump into someone’s hard chest, and when I look up, I see the man of my dreams, a tall, Caucasian orangish-reddish-haired man.
“God?” He smiles.
“I prefer Grayson.” Oh my god, he has an accent too. Damn.
“Um, Grayson, sorry.” I said, slurring my voice. I was drunk as hell.
“Do you know where the cake tasting is? I’m a bit late.” He smiles sheepishly.
I laughed. “A bit late? My guy, we finished, and we are having a whole party, and I got drunk, and now I’m trying to find my way to my room.”
Grayson raises an eyebrow, trying to stifle his laughter. “Here, take this key. It’s my room, and I’ll get a different room later.”
My eyes go wide, and he looks right through them in astonishment.
“Along with your beauty are your eyes.”
I giggled. “I don’t know how to thank you, a room and a compliment, thank you.”
Grayson smiles and helps me to the room. “See you.” He salutes and walks away as I open my door. I closed the door and stripped to my bra and underwear; the view was marvelous; this was a suite. Damn, I wanted Grayson to come back and push me against the wall, kissing me. I stood there watching the outside of the balcony for almost an hour or more because Grayson came back.
“Sorry, I forgot my suitcase….” Grayson’s voice trails off as he sees me in my underwear. “Shit.” He whispers.
I mean, I think I’m hot. I’m not fully busty or butt-sy, but I have good assets.
“Y- you forgot what?” I’m so drunk I don’t even know I’m almost naked in front of a man I don’t know. Grayson tried to look away and grab his suitcase, so I helped him and took his bag over to him. “Thank you again for the room. I honestly forgot my room number.” I smiled widely.
Grayson exhales. “Shit.”
He pushes his suitcase away, grabbing me by the waist, kissing me. I gladly opened my mouth as I was just dreaming about him. Grayson pushes me onto the bed, taking off his shirt. Damn.
Grayson takes off my bra and buries his head in my breast, making me moan. He comes back up and kisses me, taking off his pants in the process.
“f**k me.” I said softly.
I seemed to drive Grayson crazy, his messy hair looking so fine on him. Grayson drives into me, making me inhale. I want him to go faster, and he senses it, going in deeper as well. God, his d**k is so freaking big. “Oh shi-,” I moaned.
Grayson spins me around, Doggystyle, and pounds me. I couldn’t contain myself. Is this how s*x is supposed to feel like? “God, Grayson!” I rolled my eyes back as I came on his d**k, shaking beneath him.
We fell back on the bed.
“You’re good,” he says softly.
I scoffed. “I’m surprised, as well.”
Grayson smiles at me before I fall asleep on his chest.
Then my f*****g alarm wakes me up.
